Kraken's Tye Kartye: Pots shorthanded goal
Kartye scored a shorthanded goal and added four hits in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Kings.
Kartye made the most of his chances in April, earning four points over five games this month. The 23-year-old forward was largely limited to fourth-line minutes when he was in the lineup, which wasn't a given for much of the campaign. Kartye had six goals, 56 shots on net, 175 hits, 43 PIM and a minus-14 rating over 63 appearances. He is a pending restricted free agent, and it's unclear if the Kraken are interesting in extending him a qualifying offer.

Kartye notched two assists, six hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Blues.
This was Kartye's first multi-point effort of the season. The 23-year-old has had some trouble staying in the lineup lately -- he's been scratched five times since March 18. Kraken's Tye Kartye: Plucks apple in win
Kartye logged an assist, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Canucks.
Kartye was scratched Monday versus the Stars, but he checked back in due to injuries to Jaden Schwartz (undisclosed) and Eeli Tolvanen (undisclosed). Since the Kraken are out of playoff contention, Kartye may get more playing time as long as he can stay healthy. He's at 10 points, 53 shots on net, 160 hits, 29 blocked shots, 38 PIM and a minus-14 rating over 59 appearances in a somewhat disappointing second NHL campaign.

Kartye has two goals over seven contests since coming back from a conditioning loan with AHL Coachella Valley. The 23-year-old forward was scratched twice during the Kraken's three-game road trip last week, but he's gotten back to a regular role while Chandler Stephenson (upper body) has been sidelined. Kartye has had a bit of a sophomore slump with nine points, 51 shots on net, 159 hits, 26 blocked shots, 38 PIM and a minus-16 rating through 56 appearances after a 20-point rookie year in 2023-24.

Kraken's Tye Kartye: Rare goal in win
Kartye scored a goal Saturday in a 4-1 win over the Flyers.
Kartye is better known for his hitting (149 in 50 games) than his scoring. He got the Kraken on the board in the first period after wheeling out from behind the net and wiring a quick shot past Samuel Ersson from the right circle. Kartye was recalled Thursday from Coachella Valley (AHL), where he had been on a three-game conditioning stint. Saturday's contest marked his first NHL game since Feb. 8 and his first goal since Dec. 5.

Kartye was sent on a conditioning loan to the AHL a week ago and managed two goals and two assists in three games. Kartye has three goals, four assists and 146 hits across 49 appearances with the Kraken this season. He should see fourth-line duty upon his return to the lineup.

Kraken's Tye Kartye: Sent on conditioning loan
Kartye was assigned to AHL Coachella Valley on a conditioning loan Thursday.
Kartye has been scratched for the Kraken's first three games following the 4 Nations Face-Off break. The 23-year-old forward has slipped into a part-time role lately, so this conditioning loan will give him a chance to get back up to game speed. Ben Meyers joined the NHL roster to fill a fourth-line role while Kartye is with the farm team.

Kraken's Tye Kartye: Secures assist in loss
Kartye logged an assist, two hits and two PIM in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Ducks.
Kartye was beginning to lose playing time recently, but his main competition -- John Hayden -- was sent to AHL Coachella Valley prior to this game. The 23-year-old Kartye checked back in on the fourth line and delivered an assist on a Mitchell Stephens tally in the first period. The helper ended a 15-game point drought for Kartye, who had 34 hits and a minus-11 rating in that span. For the season, he's at seven points, 41 shots on net, 131 hits, 28 PIM and a minus-14 rating through 44 appearances.

Kraken's Tye Kartye: In slump, but still in lineup
Kartye was held off the scoresheet for the 10th straight game in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.
While he's not finding the scoresheet, Kartye has been able to stay in the lineup for the most part -- he's been scratched just twice in that span. Injuries to Jordan Eberle (pelvis) and Yanni Gourde (lower body) have tested Seattle's depth, and Kartye appears to be a preferred player over Daniel Sprong. For the season, Kartye has six points, 37 shots on net, 123 hits, 20 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 38 appearances.

Kartye redirected a Vince Dunn shot to score the Kraken's first goal of the contest. The tally snapped an eight-game point drought for Kartye, who is holding onto a fourth-line role. The 23-year-old forward has some pressure for his spot in the lineup since the Kraken have scratched Andre Burakovsky and Daniel Sprong over the last two games. Kartye is at five points, 29 shots on net, 87 hits and a minus-2 rating through 26 appearances.

Overall, he has two goals, one assist, 15 shots on net, 51 hits and a minus-2 rating over 15 appearances. Kartye will need to show more on offense before he'll be considered an option for fantasy managers.

Kraken's Tye Kartye: Manages assist in win
Kartye notched an assist and two PIM in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Golden Knights.
Kartye was scratched Tuesday versus the Avalanche, so it's positive to see him get on the scoresheet in his return to the lineup. The 23-year-old hasn't done much on offense with two points through 14 appearances, but he's added 14 shots on net, 48 hits, eight PIM and a minus-3 rating. Kartye's spot in the lineup should be safe for a while longer, but he could face a challenge for playing time once the Kraken can deploy Daniel Sprong, who was acquired from the Canucks on Friday but won't be available for roughly a week while he sorts through his visa paperwork.

For the season, he has nine goals, eight assists, 96 shots on net, 183 hits, 37 PIM and a minus-5 rating. His goal Thursday was his first career game-winner.

Kartye notched an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Golden Knights.
Kartye snapped a 12-game point drought with the helper on Andre Burakovsky's second-period marker. Kartye was scratched four times during his slump, but he's now played in six straight games and should continue to have a spot in the lineup since the Kraken traded Alexander Wennberg to the Rangers at the deadline. For the season, Kartye has 16 points, 85 shots on net, 151 hits, 35 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 59 appearances.

Kraken's Tye Kartye: Playing time slips
Kartye played in just five of the Kraken's nine games in February.
Kartye is on an eight-game point drought after being held scoreless versus the Penguins in a 2-0 win Thursday. He's a solid bottom-six forward, but scoring problems have led to Kartye or Kailer Yamamoto slipping out of the lineup when the team is fully healthy. With Andre Burakovsky (undisclosed) day-to-day, there may be more consistent time for Kartye going forward, but he's not a fantasy option if he can't get on the scoresheet. The 22-year-old has 15 points, 82 shots on net, 137 hits and a minus-3 rating through 54 appearances.
