Sanderson scored a goal and added an assist Saturday in a 4-3 overtime win over the Maple Leafs in Game 4. Sanderson fired a wrist shot from the left point that fluttered through traffic and past Anthony Stolarz's glove. It came at 17:42 of the overtime frame. Sanderson, the Sens' top defender in 2024-25, has three points (one goal, two assists) in his last two games. He became the third-youngest member of the Senators to score a playoff OT goal (22 years, 292 days), behind Martin Havlat (21 years, seven days) and Kyle Turris (22 years, 248 days). The series returns to Toronto on Tuesday, with the Maple Leafs leading 3-1.

He had 11 goals, 46 assists (including four shorthanded helpers), 195 shots on net, 163 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating through a career-high 80 appearances. • Senators' Jake Sanderson: Leaves Saturday's game

Sanderson (neck) took a hit to the neck in Saturday's game versus the Sharks, and there was no update on his status following the contest, Claire Hanna of TSN reports. Sanderson picked up an assist in the game prior to his exit, giving him 37 points through 58 appearances. He's one shy of matching his point total from last year, and he's also served as the Senators' top defenseman this season, so any potential absence looms large. An update on Sanderson's status should be available prior to Monday's game against the Capitals, the first in a two-game road trip that concludes Wednesday in Chicago.
