Werenski's six-game point drought leading into Friday was the longest of his season. He hadn't gone more than three contests without a point since early November. Werenski carried the puck through the neutral zone and into the offensive zone before firing a shot on Samuel Ersson from the right face-off circle. The star blueliner had missed Columbus' last game due to an undisclosed injury, but Werenski saw his usual massive workload in his return -- his 29:16 led all skaters for either team on the night -- and he set up Ivan Provorov for the Blue Jackets' second goal inside the final minute of the second period.
