  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Dishes two assists Saturday

Rantanen logged two assists, including one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-3 loss to Utah. Rantanen has picked up a goal and five assists over six outings in April. The star winger is up to 32 goals, 55 assists, 207 shots on net, 47 hits, 43 blocked shots, 60 PIM and a plus-14 rating across 80 appearances between the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche this season. Rantanen continues to play a big role for the Stars and should be a steady source of offense for fantasy managers in playoff pools.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Opens scoring on power play

Rantanen scored a power-play goal on two shots and added four PIM in Tuesday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Canucks. Rantanen has three goals and eight assists over his last nine contests. He opened the scoring Tuesday at 13:48 of the first period, netting the first of three power-play goals for the Stars. Rantanen is up to 32 goals, 53 assists, 25 power-play points, 207 shots on net and a plus-13 rating across 78 games between the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Adds helper Sunday

Rantanen notched an assist and fired four shots on goal in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild. Rantanen tallied the primary helper on linemate Jason Robertson's opening goal in the first period. Overall, the 28-year-old Rantanen is up to 53 assists, 84 points and 205 shots on goal across 77 appearances this season. The superstar is currently tied for 12th in points across the league with Montreal's Nick Suzuki. Rantanen has 10 points in his last eight games and should remain a high-level option in fantasy for the rest of the season. Dallas has five games left in the regular season, giving Rantanen a window to reach the 90-point mark for the fourth consecutive year if he can tally six more points.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Two-point effort in win

Rantanen notched two assists in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Predators. Both points came in the third period as the Stars put the game away. Rantanen has found a groove with Dallas after a tumultuous stint in Carolina, getting onto the scoresheet in five of the last six games while piling up two goals and nine points.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Racks up three points in win

Rantanen scored an empty-net goal on four shots, dished two assists and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Kraken. One of Rantanen's helpers was on a Roope Hintz power-play goal late in the first period, which was the game-winner. The 28-year-old Rantanen has produced two goals and five assists during his four-game point streak, a span in which he's also gone plus-6. The top-line winger is at 31 goals, 50 helpers, 199 shots on net, 43 hits, 41 blocked shots, 56 PIM and a plus-13 rating over 73 contests between the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche in 2024-25.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Heating up

Rantanen recorded a goal, an assist, a plus-2 rating and 12 PIM in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Flames. Rantanen extended his point streak to three games, but perhaps more importantly, he scored a goal for the first time since March 9. As a marquee acquisition before the trade deadline, the Stars need Rantanen to be at his best, and his current point streak, albeit short, might be a sign of things to come for the star winger. Rantanen has posted nine points (three goals, six assists) across 14 games in March.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Sends assist Wednesday

Rantanen logged an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers. Rantanen hasn't gotten in on the fun as much as linemates Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz lately. Over the last seven contests, Rantanen has been limited to three assists, though he's likely still in his adjustment phase with his third team of the season. The star winger is at 76 points, 194 shots on net, 42 hits, 41 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 71 appearances between the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche this season.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Tallies assist in return to Denver

Rantanen registered an assist and added two shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Colorado. Rantanen's return to Denver might not have resulted in a win, but he played strong offensively with an assist on linemate Jason Robertson's goal to open the scoring Sunday. The 28-year-old Rantanen now has 45 assists, 74 points and 185 shots on net in 66 games this season. He has four points in his four games with the Stars and has slotted in nicely alongside Robertson and Roope Hintz on the top line for Dallas. Rantanen ranks 13th in the league in points and should provide top-tier value in fantasy for the rest of the season. He might not be on pace for another 100-point campaign, but Rantanen is certainly within reach to cash in another 85-to-90-point season.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Deposits empty-netter

Rantanen scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Canucks. Rantanen is up to three points over two games with the Stars after providing the finishing touch for this win. The 28-year-old saw 19:04 of ice time Sunday, down from 21:56 in his Dallas debut versus the Oilers on Saturday, which was likely a product of head coach Pete DeBoer spreading the minutes around with the lead in the second leg of a back-to-back. Rantanen is now at 29 tallies, 73 points, 181 shots on net, 40 PIM and a plus-9 rating across 64 appearances between three teams this season. His time with the Stars is off to a smooth start, and fantasy managers should have no trouble keeping him in their lineups.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Two power-play points in team debut

Rantanen scored a goal on five shots and added an assist in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Oilers. Both of Rantanen's points came on the power play, and he logged 21:56 of ice time. The Stars have typically leaned on their balance as an offense, but with Rantanen in the fold, a move to a top-heavy approach with the top line may be in order, though he also had to pick up ice time after Roope Hintz (upper body) exited the game. Rantanen has earned 28 goals, 72 points (23 on the power play), 180 shots on net and a plus-8 rating through 63 appearances with the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche this season. The $96 million man is committed to Dallas long term, so Stars fans and fantasy managers alike will hope he's able to get back on track after a rough month-plus with the Hurricanes took some of the shine off of his impressive season.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Moved in blockbuster trade

Rantanen has been acquired by Dallas from Carolina on Friday in exchange for Logan Stankoven, two first-round picks and two third-round selections, Emily Kaplan of ESPN reports. Rantanen is also closing in on an eight-year extension with Dallas. The Hurricanes acquired the star winger from Colorado on Jan. 24, but it seems they weren't able to agree to a contract extension, so the Hurricanes ultimately elected to flip him to Dallas rather than risk losing him as an unrestricted free agent over the summer. Although Rantanen was limited to two goals and six points in 13 outings with the Hurricanes, he still has 27 goals and 70 points in 62 appearances overall this season, and he recorded over 40 goals and 100 points in each of the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns. He should find success with Dallas, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him play alongside Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson at both even strength and on the power play.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Inks eight-year contract

Rantanen agreed to an eight-year, $96 million contract extension with Dallas on Friday, per Darren Dreger of TSN. Rantanen was acquired by Dallas from Carolina earlier in the day. It was the second time he had been dealt this season, but his new contract includes a full no-movement clause, so he won't need to worry about any additional trades for the foreseeable future. Rantanen has 27 goals and 70 points in 62 appearances in 2024-25. Although the 28-year-old might see some decline during the second half of his new contract, Rantanen should be one of the Stars' best forwards for years to come.

  • Hurricanes' Mikko Rantanen: Dishes assist Saturday

Rantanen registered an assist, took two shots on goal and had two hits in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Oilers. Rantanen's helper was on the power play as he helped linemate Sebastian Aho score the lone goal of the game for Carolina. The 28-year-old Rantanen is up to 43 assists, 70 points and 165 shots on net across 59 games this season. The Finnish superstar is the 10th player to eclipse the 70-point mark this season. Since joining the Hurricanes on Jan. 25, Rantanen has six points in 10 games. He got off to a slower start with Carolina but has picked up the pace with four points in as many games after the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

  • Hurricanes' Mikko Rantanen: First game-winner with Carolina

Rantanen scored the game-winning goal on the power play and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 5-2 victory over the Sabres. Both points came in the first period as the Hurricanes surged out to a 3-0 lead they would never relinquish. It was Rantanen's first multi-point performance -- and first game-winning goal -- with his new squad, and in three games since play resumed following the 4 Nations Face-Off, the 28-year-old winger has a goal and three points. Rantanen has had a quiet start to his Carolina tenure, but he could be hitting his stride.

  • Hurricanes' Mikko Rantanen: Slated to play for Team Finland

Rantanen (lower body) is on his way to Montreal and is expected to play for Team Finland in the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on Sunday. Rantanen missed Saturday's game against Utah, but his ailment was seemingly a minor one. His availability is crucial for a Finland squad that will be without star blueliner Miro Heiskanen (knee). The Finns will face Team USA on Thursday.

  • Hurricanes' Mikko Rantanen: Unavailable Saturday

Rantanen (lower body) won't play against Utah on Saturday. Rantanen sustained the injury from blocking a shot in Thursday's 2-1 loss to Minnesota. He has generated one goal, one assist and 21 shots on net in six games with the Hurricanes after being acquired from Colorado on Jan. 24. Due to Rantanen's absence, Carolina will dress 11 forwards and seven defensemen in Saturday's lineup, with Scott Morrow drawing back in after being a healthy scratch in Thursday's defeat.

  • Hurricanes' Mikko Rantanen: Pots first goal with new team

Rantanen scored his 26th goal of the season in Thursday's 3-2 win over Chicago. His first goal with Carolina came on a counterattack early in the second period, as Rantanen took a drop pass from Jack Roslovic before going five-hole on Arvid Soderblom. Rantanen has two points over three games since the trade from the Avalanche, and his scoring pace should pick up once he gets more comfortable in his new system and Carolina's roster gets back to full strength -- both Sebastian Aho and Taylor Hall were sidelined due to an illness Thursday.

  • Hurricanes' Mikko Rantanen: Nabs first Carolina point

Rantanen picked up an assist in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Rangers. Acquired from the Avalanche late last week, Rantanen collected his first point as a member of the Hurricanes in his second game for his new squad, flipping a pass to Andrei Svechnikov past a sprawling Igor Shesterkin for an easy tap-in late in the second period. Rantanen appears to be developing chemistry with his new teammates quickly, and even though he's no longer skating with Nathan MacKinnon, the 28-year-old still figures to thrive as one of the focal points of the Carolina offense. Through 51 appearances this season, Rantanen has 25 goals and 65 points.

  • Hurricanes' Mikko Rantanen: Involved in massive trade

Rantanen was traded to the Hurricanes from the Avalanche via the Blackhawks in a three-way deal Friday, Emily Kaplan of ESPN reports. Rantanen is the biggest player in the trade, but it's a blockbuster on multiple levels. The pending unrestricted free agent goes from riding alongside Nathan MacKinnon in Colorado to a spot alongside countryman Sebastian Aho in Carolina. Chicago was involved in the trade to retain 50 percent of Rantanen's cap hit to make the money work for the Hurricanes. Additional aspects of the trade will see Taylor Hall join Rantanen in Carolina, while Martin Necas and Jack Drury head to Colorado. The Blackhawks will also get their own third-round pick in 2025 back after dealing it away in a previous trade, while the Avalanche will get a second-round pick in 2025 and a fourth-round pick in 2026, per Kaplan.

  • Avalanche's Mikko Rantanen: Plucks apple Wednesday

Rantanen produced an assist and four shots on goal in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Jets. Rantanen set up a Cale Makar tally in the third period, which ultimately forced overtime. The 28-year-old Rantanen has gone six games without a goal but still has four assists in that span to remain moderately productive. He was back on the top line Wednesday, which is a good sign for his productivity moving forward. Rantanen has 25 goals, 39 helpers, 135 shots on net, 28 PIM, 27 hits and a plus-12 rating over 49 outings.
