Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Two helpers in shootout loss
DeAngelo logged two assists, four shots on goal and four hits in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Flyers.
DeAngelo earned his first multi-point effort since March 20 versus the Canadiens. He has just three assists over six outings in April, though two of those helpers have come on the power play. The 29-year-old defenseman is up to 19 points, 69 shots on net, 39 blocked shots, 17 hits and a minus-7 rating over 32 appearances. He's still in a top-four role, and the Islanders have three games left after Saturday, so there's plenty of time for him to help fantasy managers make a final push.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Helps out on power play
DeAngelo notched a power-play assist and four shots on goal in Friday's 3-1 win over the Wild.
DeAngelo had gone scoreless in his last two outings following a five-game point streak. The 29-year-old got back on the scoresheet by setting up a Noah Dobson tally in the third period. DeAngelo is at 17 points, 60 shots on net, 34 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating across 28 appearances. He's got enough offense and a power-play role, so fantasy managers should have no trouble counting on him over the last couple of weeks of the season.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Four-game, six-point streak
DeAngelo scored a goal Saturday in a 5-3 loss to the Lightning.
His goal was the third scored by the Islanders in a 2:49 span of the third. DeAngelo is riding a five-game, six-point streak (two goals, four assists) with 13 shots. He has eight points, including six assists, in his last seven outings. DeAngelo has lived up to expectations offensively, earning four goals and 16 points through 25 contests this season. He's a solid play until the season's end.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Scores in loss Wednesday
DeAngelo scored a goal on four shots and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Canucks.
DeAngelo extended his point streak to four games (one goal, four assists). The 29-year-old's tally briefly gave the Islanders a 2-1 lead in the second period. He's been a good fit in a top-four role since joining the team in January, racking up three goals, 15 points, 48 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 24 appearances.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Two more assists Thursday
DeAngelo recorded two assists, including one on the power play, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canadiens.
This was DeAngelo's second multi-assist game in his last three outings. The 29-year-old has earned six points over his last seven contests, including a pair of power-play assists, as he continues to stay involved with the man advantage. He's now at 12 points in 21 appearances with the Islanders, one point better than the 11 he put up over 31 contests with the Hurricanes in 2023-24. DeAngelo has added 41 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating in 2024-25.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Provides pair of helpers
DeAngelo logged two assists in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Panthers.
DeAngelo earned his first multi-point effort as an Islander when he helped out on goals by Marc Gatcomb and Maxim Tsyplakov to erase a two-goal deficit in the third period. The 29-year-old DeAngelo continues to play important minutes for a defense that is starting to weather the storm with injuries again. He's up to 10 points, 36 shots on net, 26 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating across 19 outings.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Spoils shutout bid
DeAngelo scored a goal on three shots and blocked three shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Ducks.
DeAngelo denied Lukas Dostal's shutout bid with a goal at 15:10 of the third period. This was DeAngelo's second straight game with a point, and he's earned two goals and six helpers over 16 contests since joining the Islanders in late January. The defenseman continues to handle top-four minutes, and his level of offense is acceptable for most fantasy formats. He's added 30 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Nabs power-play assist
DeAngelo logged a power-play assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.
DeAngelo helped out on Adam Boqvist's insurance tally in the third period. The assist ended a four-game slump for DeAngelo, which has opened the door for Noah Dobson to reclaim a larger role both on the power play and at even strength. For the season, DeAngelo has seven points, 27 shots on net, 22 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating. He's a power-play specialist, and that can help in fantasy, but it will be tougher for him to make an impact if he slips to the second unit on a regular basis.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Sends helper
DeAngelo provided an assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Stars.
DeAngelo had been held off the scoresheet in two games prior to the break, his first multi-game drought since signing with the Islanders. He's provided five points over nine appearances, though none of them have come on the power play despite the defenseman taking a substantial amount of ice time in that situation. DeAngelo's offense has always been his calling card, and as long as his workload remains large, he's worth considering in fantasy.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Nets winner in OT
DeAngelo scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 overtime victory over Tampa Bay on Saturday.
DeAngelo took a stretch pass from Bo Horvat behind the Lightning defense and beat Andrei Vasilevskiy on a breakaway 33 seconds into overtime. DeAngelo has two points (one goal, one assist) in four games this season. Fantasy managers will benefit from DeAngelo's effectiveness until Noah Dobson (lower body) returns to the line. Once Dobson is back in the fold, DeAngelo could see time on the second power-play combination.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Nabs first NHL point of season
DeAngelo picked up an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche.
The much-traveled blueliner helped set up Anders Lee for the game's opening goal early in the second period. It was DeAngelo's first point in two games since joining the Islanders following a KHL stint, and while the Isles didn't get a power-play opportunity Tuesday, he should see a heavy workload with the man advantage as long as Noah Dobson (lower body) and Ryan Pulock (upper body) are on the shelf.

Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Signs one-year deal
DeAngelo inked a one-year contract with the Islanders on Friday.
DeAngelo played in the KHL this season before SKA St. Petersburg terminated his contract despite his six goals and 32 points over 34 KHL contests. The defenseman will add some offense to an Islanders team that is last in power-play goals with 14 and are missing their top offensive blueliner, Noah Dobson, who is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Tony DeAngelo: Bound for KHL
DeAngelo signed a one-year contract with KHL club SKA St. Petersburg on Monday.
DeAngelo saw action in just 31 regular-season games for the Hurricanes last year in which he generated three goals, eight assists and six power-play points while averaging a career-low 14:20 of ice time. It seems the 28-year-old blueliner didn't have any significant offers from NHL clubs this summer and will need to revitalize his career in the KHL.

Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: Set for offseason procedure
DeAngelo will require offseason hand surgery, according to Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal.
DeAngelo is eligible for unrestricted free agency in July after completing a one-year, $1.675 million contract with the Hurricanes. The 28-year-old blueliner generated three goals, 11 points, 44 shots on net and 18 blocked shots in 31 regular-season appearances during the 2023-24 campaign. DeAngelo also contributed two assists, 16 shots on goal, seven blocked shots and eight hits across nine playoff outings.

Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: Puts up helper in win
DeAngelo logged an assist and went minus-2 in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rangers in Game 4.
DeAngelo has earned both of his helpers this postseason over the last three games. While he continues to see a bottom-four role due to the absence of Brett Pesce (lower body), DeAngelo isn't trusted to handle many minutes. In addition to two assists, he's managed 12 shots on net, six hits, five blocked shots, six PIM and a minus-2 rating over seven playoff appearances.

Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: X-rays negative
DeAngelo's (wrist) X-rays came back negative and the blueliner is expected to be available for Game 1 against the Rangers in the second round of the playoffs, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports Wednesday.
DeAngelo has played in the last three games for the Canes due to Brett Pesce's (lower body) absence. DeAngelo will likely be relegated to the press box if and when Pesce is ready to return.

Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: Questionable for Game 1
DeAngelo (wrist) is questionable for the start of the second round, per Luke DeCock of The Raleigh News & Observer on Wednesday.
DeAngelo was injured after absorbing a slash during Tuesday's 6-3 victory over the Islanders. That Game 5 win clinched the series for Carolina, so DeAngelo and the rest of the Hurricanes have some time to rest before their quest for the Stanley Cup resumes.

Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: Being checked for injury
DeAngelo went for X-rays after taking a slash Tuesday's Game 5 versus the Islanders, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
DeAngelo was able to return after the incident, but the Hurricanes will give him further evaluation after clinching their first-round series win. The defenseman had no points in three outings after replacing Brett Pesce (lower body) in the lineup. DeAngelo's status should be updated before the start of the Hurricanes' second-round series versus the Rangers.

Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: Back at it with assist
DeAngelo recorded an assist and two blocked shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
DeAngelo has appeared in just nine NHL games since the calendar flipped to 2024, with the eighth-year defenseman often labeled a healthy scratch. Despite adding 42 points with the Flyers last season, DeAngelo has largely fallen out of favor in the fantasy realm, as the playoff-bound Hurricanes simply don't need him for heavy minutes. He's averaging 14:01 of ice time in Carolina as measured against his career-high 22:04 average for Philadelphia in 2022-23.
