Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Point streak at six games
Zibanejad registered a power-play assist and three shots on net in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights.
Zibanejad had a shot attempt that was well off the mark, but it hit Vincent Trocheck in the abdomen, and Trocheck was able to bury it before hunching over in pain. That's a hard way to earn a goal, but the assist extended Zibanejad's point streak to six games (two goals, four helpers). It's a positive sign after the 31-year-old center was ice-cold throughout the second half of December. He's at 27 points (10 on the power play), 97 shots on net, 27 blocked shots and a minus-21 rating through 42 outings this season. It's been a down year, but he's beginning to trend in the right direction.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Turning corner?
Zibanejad picked up an assist in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Blackhawks.
Zibanejad was held off the scoresheet in eight consecutive games to close out the month of December, but he's started the new calendar year with a three-game point streak. He's accounted for two goals, one assist and a plus-3 rating in that span. The right-shot center has struggled in 2024-25, but he has a track record of producing in the regular season, and given his start in January, fantasy managers should remain patient. Zibanejad has logged eight goals, 24 points and a team-worst minus-19 rating through 39 appearances.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Goals in consecutive games
Zibanejad scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Capitals.
Zibanejad has opened January with goals in consecutive games. It's already been a more productive month than December was in the goal column for the 31-year-old center, who had four points over 13 outings last month. Zibanejad is at eight goals, 23 points, 85 shots on net, 26 blocked shots and a minus-21 rating over 38 appearances this season, putting him on his worst scoring pace since 2017-18.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Earns 700th career point
Zibanejad scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Bruins.
The opening tally was Zibanejad's 700th career point. It's the second milestone he's reached this season -- the last was 300 career goals back on Dec. 11, but unfortunately for the Rangers, he didn't record a point in the eight contests in between. He continues to play top-six minutes but has struggled across the board with seven goals, 15 assists, a minus-22 rating, 82 shots on net and 26 blocked shots over 37 appearances. His next assist will be the 400th of his career.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Producing below expectations
Zibanejad entered the holiday break on a six-game point drought.
That's Zibanejad longest scoring slump of 2024-25, though he did have a drought that matched it last season from Feb. 24-March 9. The cold stretch coming earlier this year has made it stand out more -- Zibanejad has six goals and 21 points through 34 outings overall. That's not a terrible level of production, but it's well below what we've come to expect from him after the 31-year-old recorded over 70 points in five of six campaigns from 2018-19 through 2023-24 (the lone exception was the shortened 2020-21 season). Zibanejad also has an unusually low minus-19 rating this year, which has continued its descent with his minus-5 across his active six-game drought. The only Rangers player who even comes close to his struggles in that category is Alexis Lafreniere at minus-15.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Nets 300th career goal
Zibanejad scored a power-play goal on five shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Sabres.
The goal was the 300th of Zibanejad's career, and he's not far off from a couple of other milestones. He needs one more point to reach 700 and one more assist for 400 in his career. The center has been playing better of late with two goals and four assists over his last six outings. Overall, Zibanejad is at six tallies, 21 points (seven on the power play), 62 shots on net, 10 PIM and a minus-14 rating over 28 appearances.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Supplies assist Friday
Zibanejad posted an assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 4-2 win over the Penguins.

The 31-year-old center is up to five goals, 14 assists, 52 shots on net and a minus-13 rating over 25 outings. He's had some struggles on both sides of the puck, but his offense looks to be coming around, and he remains in a prominent role.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Pots first power-play marker
Zibanejad had a goal and assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 4-3 win over Montreal. He also had three shots on net and two PIM.
Zibanejad's power-play assist in the first period snapped an 11-game run without a point while the Rangers were a skater up. In the second period, he tallied on the man advantage, when he pump-faked and expertly used a Chris Kreider screen to beat Sam Montembeault. It was surprisingly the first power-play tally of the season for Zibanejad, who entered 2024-25 with double-digit power-play goals in seven consecutive campaigns. It's been a rough start for the 31-year-old Zibanejad, who owns a minus-14 rating through 23 outings.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Finds twine in Thursday's win
Zibanejad scored a goal and added two PIM in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Sharks.
Zibanejad had a terrible game versus the Jets on Tuesday, but he redeemed himself Thursday with his first goal since Oct. 22. The 31-year-old center has had trouble finding consistency early in the campaign -- he hasn't gotten on the scoresheet in more than two consecutive contests. He's at three goals, nine helpers, 30 shots on net, nine blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 15 outings, and he remains in a top-line role.

Zibanejad contributed three assists in a 5-2 win over the Islanders on Sunday.
Zibanejad earned one point while shorthanded, one on the power play and another at even strength in Sunday's victory. Before erupting offensively against the Islanders, he had one helper in his previous four outings. Zibanejad has notched two goals and 10 points through 11 appearances this season.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Delivers power-play helper
Zibanejad notched a power-play assist, two PIM and a minus-3 rating in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Capitals.
Zibanejad connected with Chris Kreider for a power-play goal early in the second period. Consistency has been an issue for Zibanejad early on -- he's been held scoreless in five of the Rangers' first nine games. He's made up for it by logging seven points (two on the power play) with 17 shots on net, a minus-3 rating and four PIM. While still on the nominal first line, the Rangers' scoring depth means Zibanejad is functioning more as an all-situations middle-six center.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Five points in five games
Zibanejad put up two assists in a 4-1 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday.
He set up the winner with a beauty cross-crease pass to Chris Kreider for an easy tap-in on a delayed penalty in the second period. Zibanejad has five points, including four assists, in five games this season. He's historically been a volume shooter but has only eight shots. That will change soon, and Zibanejad's goal tally will climb.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Three-point effort in win
Zibanejad scored a goal and added two assists, one on the power play, in Monday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.
After getting held off the scoresheet in the Rangers' first two games, Zibanejad got rolling with an impressive performance that included a slick shot-pass to Chris Kreider in the second period that produced the game-winner on the power play. Zibanejad saw his production droop last year, as he managed just 26 goals and 72 points in 81 regular-season games -- his lowest totals over a full campaign since 2017-18 -- but given the talent around him and his spot on the Rangers' top power-play unit, the 31-year-old seems likely to get back to at least a point-a-game pace in 2024-25.
