Miller recorded two power-play assists, logged two PIM and won 18 of 23 faceoffs in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Oilers.
This performance ended a five-game point drought for Miller. There was some doubt as to whether the 31-year-old would suit up Saturday -- Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK reported earlier in the day that trade talk involving Miller has ramped up, though the forward has yet to be asked to waive his no-movement clause. Miller has eight goals, 23 assists, 68 shots on net, 78 hits, 30 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 35 appearances. The Canucks' middling season has had an impact on Miller's production, and he could benefit from a change of scenery if a good trade fit arrives.

Miller didn't participate in Vancouver's previous 10 games. He has six goals and 16 points in 17 outings in 2024-25. Now that Miller is back, he should serve in a top-six capacity and on the first power-play unit. Pius Suter might see a reduction in his ice time as a result.

Miller's return to the ice certainly seems like a positive sign with Thursday's clash with Florida a possible return date, per Ben Kuzma of Postmedia. The 31-year-old center will miss his 10th game Tuesday and should probably be considered day-to-day at this point.

Miller will take an indefinite leave of absence from the Canucks for personal reasons, the club announced Tuesday.
Per general manager Patrik Allvin, "Right now, our sole focus is making sure that J.T. knows the entire organization is here to support him. Out of respect to J.T., we will have no further comment at this time." In a corresponding move, the team recalled Arshdeep Bains from the minors.

He remains one of the Canucks' most important forwards in all situations, and that's even more clear with Elias Pettersson off to a rough start in 2024-25.
