Devils' Jake Allen: Blanks Utah on Monday
Allen had a 20-save shutout in Monday's 3-0 win over Utah.
After a scoreless first period, the Devils broke the ice with a Seamus Casey power-play tally early in the second, and it was all the support Allen would need. The 34-year-old netminder recorded his 25th career shutout and first since Feb. 14, 2023, when he was with Montreal. Jacob Markstrom is locked in as the No. 1 goalie, but Allen is looking very comfortable early, allowing just one goal on 38 shots in his first two appearances -- both New Jersey wins.

Devils' Jake Allen: Thrust into duty after injury
Allen allowed one goal on 30 shots in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Predators.
After starter Kaapo Kahkonen let in a goal and exited the game just 8:39 into the first frame, Allen filled in between the pipes and gave his team a chance for the win all night. The only puck that got past him prior to the shootout came on a third-period Nashville power play. Allen has only two wins in his last six games and has allowed 20 goals over that span. With only four games left on the schedule and the Devils four points out of a playoff spot, their playoff prospects are looking dim, and Tuesday's difficult home matchup against Toronto may not help matters.
