Giroux missed practice Monday for the birth of his third son and will be ready to go alongside Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk as the Senators begin the 2024-25 season. Giroux is coming off a 21-goal, 43-assist campaign in 2023-24. Look for similar numbers this season from the 36-year-old.
Giroux didn't participate in Monday's practice session following the birth of his third son over the weekend, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
While Giroux was absent from Monday's practice, he'll have several days to rejoin the team before Opening Night against the Panthers on Thursday, and it seems likely that he'll be available. The 36-year-old has appeared in all 82 regular-season games in each of his first two seasons in Ottawa, and he recorded 21 goals and 64 points while averaging 20:06 of ice time last year.
