Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Staying in Detroit
Kane signed a one-year, $6.5 million deal with the Red Wings on Sunday.
Kane racked up 20 goals and 47 points in 50 games with Detroit last year after undergoing offseason hip surgery. He didn't make his season debut until December. The veteran winger would finish his season with 31 points over his last 31 contests. Kane will maintain his top-six spot with a large role on the top power-play unit. With a fully healthy season, he should get back into 30-goal territory.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Dials up two assists in OT win
Kane contributed two assists -- including an overtime helper on the power play -- in Saturday's 5-4 OT win over the Maple Leafs.
Kane wrapped around the net and found David Perron to put the Wings up 4-1 with 16.8 seconds to play in the first period. Kane then came through in the clutch with a soft shot that still had enough steam to be redirected by captain Dylan Larkin for the game-winning goal in overtime. Kane is up to 20 goals and 26 assists through 48 games in his debut campaign for the Red Wings. He got off to a late start to the season as he rounded out his recovery from hip surgery, but the Wings are still fighting for their playoff lives with two games to go in the regular season. There's been wide speculation that Kane, a pending unrestricted free agent, will join a new team if Detroit fails to extend its season.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Notches 20th goal
Kane scored his 20th goal of the season in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Capitals.
He spoiled a shutout bid by Charlie Lindgren with a desperation tally just before the final horn. Kane has reached 20 goals in a season for the 16th time, and the 35-year-old proved he still has a lot left in the tank by racking up 44 points in 46 games for the Red Wings after signing with the club in late November.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Saturday status uncertain
Kane (illness) is questionable for Saturday's tilt in Florida, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.
Kane was a late scratch Thursday versus Carolina because of his illness. The veteran has nine points in his last eight games, giving him 17 goals and 40 points in 41 games. Michael Rasmussen took his spot on the second line Thursday, while Justin Holl moved up from the blue line to play on the fourth line.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Not playing Thursday
Kane (illness) is not on the ice for warmups, indicating he won't play Thursday versus the Hurricanes, Max Bultman of The Athletic reports.
Kane has nine points over his last eight games, so his absence is a big one for a Red Wings team that's been losing ground in the playoff race. Daniel Sprong is expected to be in the lineup in place of Kane. Kane's next chance to play is Saturday versus the Panthers.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Finds twine to snap team skid
Kane supplied the game-winning goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Sabres.
J.T. Compher made a sprawling pass at the top of the crease to give Kane a wide-open look at the net, culminating in a 2-1 Red Wings advantage with 2:20 remaining in the second period. The Wings held on to snap a seven-game losing streak, while Kane is heating up based on a three-game point streak comprised of a goal and two helpers. Detroit is 1-6-0 with Dylan Larkin (lower body) out of commission, so all eyes are on Kane, who is averaging 1.05 points per game in his 17-year career, to start becoming a major factor in team wins. He's added 14 goals, 20 assists and 11 power-play points through 36 games this season.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Registers power-play apple
Kane recorded a power-play assist in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Sabres.
Losers of six straight contests, the Red Wings need even more from Kane amid the slump and continued absence of captain Dylan Larkin, who, on March 4, was given a two-week return timeline upon sustaining a lower-body injury. Of course, there's still plenty of fantasy value to be found from Kane based on 13 goals, 19 assists and 10 power-play points through 34 games in his debut season with Detroit.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Scores in overtime
Kane scored a goal and assisted on another in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blackhawks.
It was an emotional night for Kane as he celebrated not only the game-winning goal in overtime but also his return to Chicago, where he carved out his Hall of Fame career. Kane added an assist on Alex DeBrincat's game-tying goal, four shots and a plus-2 rating in 18:13 of ice time. He is now riding an eight-game point streak, scoring five goals and adding seven assists over that span. While his team's performance might fluctuate, Kane's individual talent and consistent production make him a valuable asset in fantasy.
