Vikings' Jordan Addison: Official DNP on Thursday
Addison (ankle) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.
Addison has yet to practice since hurting his right ankle Week 1, likely meaning he'll have to log at least a limited session Friday to give him a chance to return to action Sunday versus the Texans. Meanwhile, fellow wide receiver Justin Jefferson (quadriceps) was limited for a second day in a row, at least providing him more legitimate odds to be active Week 3. Friday's injury report should be telling for the statuses of both Addison and Jefferson heading into the weekend.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Missing out on another practice
Addison (ankle) didn't participate in the portion of Thursday's practice that was available to the media, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Addison was present for the session, though he was merely conducting rehab on a side field. With Addison set to be listed as a non-participant in practice for the second day in a row, he'll likely need to practice with his healthy teammates as at least a limited participant Friday to have a legitimate chance at playing Sunday against the Texans. While Addison was sidelined for the Vikings' Week 2 loss to the 49ers, Jalen Nailor (3-54-1 receiving line on four targets, 93 percent snap share) was the biggest beneficiary of an expanded role behind No. 1 wideout Justin Jefferson (quadricep).

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Misses practice
Addison (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.
Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that he was hoping to have Addison back for Week 3 against Houston after the wideout missed Sunday's win over the 49ers with an ankle sprain suffered Week 1. While the practice absence isn't ideal, O'Connell said Wednesday that Addison is "still in that day-to-day world" and getting treatment on his injured ankle, per Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Fellow Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson (quadricep) is listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Could return to action Week 3
Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that the team is hoping Addison (ankle) will be available Week 3 versus the Texans, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
O'Connell said the Vikings will need to see what type of work Addison can handle in practice this week, and that the team's priority remains his long-term health, but it looks like there's a chance the second-year wideout could be back in action as early as Sunday. Top wide receiver Justin Jefferson (quad), who was forced out of action Week 2 due to a bruised quadriceps, also has been labeled day-to-day, which bodes well for the health of Minnesota's passing game heading into a tough road matchup against Houston.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Won't play this week
Addison (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
With Addison out due to soreness in his right ankle, Brandon Powell and Jalen Nailor are candidates to see added work behind Justin Jefferson in Week 2. Addison's next chance to play will arrive Sunday, Sept. 22 against the Texans.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Not looking good for Week 2
Addison (ankle) isn't practicing Friday and thus seems unlikely to play Sunday against the 49ers, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Addison sprained his left ankle in August but made it back for Week 1, only to sprain his right ankle in a win over the Giants. He hasn't practiced at all this week, which likely leaves Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell to join Justin Jefferson in three-wide formations come Sunday.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Missing from Thursday's practice
Addison (ankle) wasn't spotted on the field at Thursday's practice, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
With Addison set to miss a second consecutive practice, he'll likely need to get back on the field Friday as at least a limited participant to have a realistic chance at playing in Sunday's game against the 49ers. Should Addison's right ankle injury keep him inactive Sunday, Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell would likely be featured more prominently in three-receiver sets alongside No. 1 option Justin Jefferson.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Not practicing Wednesday
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Addison (ankle) won't take part in Wednesday's practice, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Instead, Addison will focus on treatment of his right ankle to begin Week 2 prep after injuring it during this past Sunday's win at the Giants. O'Connell told Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Monday that he was "hopeful" Addison will be able to play Sunday against the 49ers, but the receiver may have to mix into drills Thursday and/or Friday in order for the Vikings to feel comfortable making him active. Brandon Powell and Jalen Nailor are next up for reps at wide receiver behind top option Justin Jefferson in Minnesota's offense.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Hopeful for Week 2
Coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday he's "hopeful" that Addison (ankle) will be available versus the 49ers in Week 2, Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
O'Connell said that Addison, who was forced out of Sunday's win over the Giants in the third quarter, is dealing with "significant soreness" in his right ankle. Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports that O'Connell also said the Vikings will be "smart" with Addison and that the second-year wideout's availability will depend on how he responds to treatment. If Addison does have to miss any time, an increased role behind Justin Jefferson could fall to Jalen Nailor, who scored a 21-yard touchdown on his only reception Week 1.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Ankle injury not thought to be serious
Addison will undergo tests on his injured right ankle Monday, but the issue isn't thought to be a serious one, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Addison tended to a left high-ankle sprain last month that kept him off the practice field until Sept. 2, and he eventually avoided a designation for the Vikings' Week 1 road matchup with the Giants. However, he exited Sunday's eventual win in the third quarter and didn't return due to an injury to his other ankle. If Rapoport's report proves to be true, Addison may miss little, if any, time, but the aforementioned testing ultimately will determine if an absence is possible.
