  • Giants' Jimmy Morrissey: Signs with Big Blue

The Giants signed Morrissey (undisclosed) to a reserve/future contract Monday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Morrissey ended the 2024 regular season on the Giants' practice-squad injured list due to an undisclosed issue. The 26-year-old offensive lineman out of Pittsburgh has appeared in 14 regular-season games (including four starts) since being drafted by the Raiders (and subsequently traded to the Texans) in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Morrissey will work out with the Giants during OTAs and minicamp and will compete for a spot on the 53-man roster during training camp.

  • Jimmy Morrissey: Placed on injured list

The Giants placed Morrissey (undisclosed) on the practice squad injured list Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

The Giants will now be unable to elevate Morrissey for the next four weeks. As the team has already been eliminated from playoff contention, the 26-year-old's season is now over.

  • Texans' Jimmy Morrissey: Active at camp

Morrissey is working to earn a starting job after his 2022 season ended early due to a concussion, Mark Lane of TexansWire reports.

Morrissey, who mostly worked as a reserve lineman last year, is competing with Juice Scruggs and Scott Quessenberry for the starting center duties in camp.

  • Texans' Jimmy Morrissey: Won't play versus Jacksonville

Morrissey (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Morrissey exited the Week 16 victory versus Tennessee with a concussion, which kept him sidelined for all three practices ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale. He will now look to clear protocols following the conclusion of the 2022 regular season.

  • Texans' Jimmy Morrissey: Gets concussion check

Morrissey was examined for a head injury during Saturday's 19-14 win in Tennessee.

It isn't exactly clear when Morrissey may have been forced to the sideline to get a concussion check, but the reserve offensive lineman's status will be up in the air for a Week 17 matchup with the Jaguars if he's diagnosed as such.

  • Texans' Jimmy Morrissey: Expected back with Texans

Morrissey is expected to re-sign with the Texans on a one-year deal, Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports.

Morrissey was originally selected by the Raiders in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he closed the season with the Texans. He played in five games and started four at center for the team. Morrissey should be expected to open the season in a reserve role, though Justin Britt -- the team's starting center in 2021 -- is slated to become an unrestricted free agent.
