Buccaneers' Vita Vea: Career-high sack total in '24
Vea finished the 2024 regular season with 42 tackles (27 solo), including 7.0 sacks, and one defensed pass across 16 games.
The veteran defensive tackle added a solo tackle over 47 snaps in the Buccaneers' wild-card loss to the Commanders. During the regular season, Vea continued to profile as one of the best interior pass rushers in the league, setting a new career high in sacks while exceeding 5.0 sacks for the third straight season. Vea's tackle total was also the second highest of his career, and unless the Buccaneers opt to exercise an out in his deal this offseason at a dead cap hit of $11.5 million, Vea is due to play out the 2025 season in his usual capacity on the interior of Tampa Bay's defensive front.

The 2018 first-round pick also compiled the second-highest tackle total (42) of his career, and Vea figures to continue serving a critical pass-rushing and run-stuffing presence when the Buccaneers welcome in the Commanders for Sunday night's wild-card showdown.

The Washington product has impressed through eight games this season, recording 30 total tackles, including 5.0 sacks, and one pass defended. Expect Vea to serve as Tampa Bay's top interior defensive lineman in Week 10.

Buccaneers' Vita Vea: Limited to open week
Vea (hip) was a limited participant at the Buccaneers' practice Wednesday.
Vea recorded a season-high 10 total tackles (seven solo), including 2.0 sacks, in Monday's 30-24 loss to Kansas City. The defensive lineman appears to have picked up a hip injury in the contest and he'll look to raise his participation level at the team's final two practices of the week before Sunday's contest against the 49ers.

Buccaneers' Vita Vea: Stuffs stat sheet in loss
Vea recorded 10 tackles (seven solo) including 2.0 sacks during Monday's 30-24 overtime loss at Kansas City.
Vea added another impressive chapter to his career in Week 9, amassing double digits in the tackle department for his first time as a pro. His two sacks were also his fourth and fifth over the last six games. While it might not always show in the box score quite like it did Monday, Vea remains one of the most impactful defensive players in football heading into a Week 10 tilt versus the 49ers.
