Jaguars' Evan Engram: Nearly blanked in Week 1 loss
Engram brought in one of four targets for five yards in the Jaguars' 20-17 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
The veteran tight end came into Week 1 with sky-high expectations due to a pair of offseason departures and his own career-best 2023, but Engram's Week 1 production was an undeniable dud. Trevor Lawrence flashed the most chemistry with newcomers Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas in the loss, and the entire air attack was ineffective as the second half unfolded. Engram will aim to revert to his typically more voluminous workload during a Week 2 visit from the Browns next Sunday.

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Pair of touchdown grabs
Engram brought in all four of his targets for 28 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's 31-0 preseason win over the Falcons.
Engram played on two drives, both of which came with Trevor Lawrence. With Christian Kirk (calf) sidelined, Engram was Lawrence's favorite target and caught touchdown receptions of five and six yards. He has failed to top four trips to the end zone in the regular season since his rookie campaign in 2017, but this usage could suggest he'll be a favorite target in the red zone in 2024.
