Dolphins' Jordan Poyer: Won't face New England
Poyer (shin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

Dolphins' Jordan Poyer: Looking unlikely for Week 5
Coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that Poyer (shin) will not practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
McDaniel doesn't seem optimistic about Poyer's chances of suiting up for Sunday's divisional matchup against the Patriots, which is unsurprising given that the starting safety has missed three consecutive practices since being forced out of Monday's loss to the Titans. Marcus Maye will likely start at strong safety if Poyer's shin injury indeed rules him out for Sunday's divisional clash.

Dolphins' Jordan Poyer: Misses first practice of week
Poyer (shin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Poyer injured his shin in the first half of Monday's loss to the Titans and did not return for the second half. He'll have two more chances to see the practice field ahead of Sunday's AFC East showdown against the Patriots. Marcus Maye would be the top candidate to start at strong safety if Poyer is unable to suit up for Sunday's game.

Dolphins' Jordan Poyer: Questionable to return Monday
Poyer (shin) is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Titans.

Dolphins' Jordan Poyer: Racks up nine tackles in loss
Poyer notched nine tackles (five solo) during Miami's 24-3 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.
Poyer played 100 percent of defensive snaps during the Dolphins' loss to Seattle. While he hasn't yet picked up a pass breakup or interception through three contest, Poyer's every-down role makes him a viable option in most IDP formats. He'll have an opportunity to make more plays Monday versus the Titans and a mistake-prone Will Levis.

Dolphins' Jordan Poyer: Plays every down Sunday
Poyer recorded six tackles (four solo) during Sunday's 20-17 win versus the Jaguars.
Poyer was nursing a thumb injury during the week leading up to Miami's season debut, but he ultimately had no limitations to start the year. If the snap share remains a constant, he could collect enough tackles over the course of the season to warrant IDP consideration.

Dolphins' Jordan Poyer: Full participant Thursday
Poyer (thumb) was a full participant in Thursday's practice session, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Poyer had been dealing with a fractured right thumb for most of training camp. He was limited to individual drills Wednesday, but he has now progressed to team drills and should be good to go for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Jaguars. Poyer signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins in March after spending the last seven seasons with the Bills, and the 2013 seventh-round pick is slated to start at strong safety alongside free safety Jevon Holland.

Poyer (thumb) said Monday that he expects to resume practicing Tuesday, C. Isaiah Smalls of The Miami Herald reports.
Poyer revealed Monday that the hand cast he's donning is due to a fracture on the bottom of his right thumb, per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, but he's now nearly recovered from the injury.
