76ers' Ricky Council: Erupts for 29 points
Council had 29 points (9-18 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one block in 28 minutes during Monday's 102-92 win over the Thunder in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
After starting the game 0-for-4 from deep, Council scored 19 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory, displaying plenty of confidence in his shooting ability. This is a nice start to Summer League for Council, and he'll need to do more of the same going forward to have a chance to earn consistent playing time within the Sixers' rotation.

76ers' Ricky Council: Inks multi-year deal
The 76ers will convert Council's two-way deal to a four-year, $7.4 million standard NBA contract Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
As a two-way player, Council has split time between the 76ers and the G League's Delaware Blue Coats this season. For the 76ers, the 22-year-old guard has averaged 5.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9.1 minutes across 31 appearances. Now that he's been upgraded from his two-way deal, Council is eligible to play in postseason contests for the 76ers, though he's not expected to be a regular part of head coach Nick Nurse's rotation.

76ers' Ricky Council: Efficient in loss to Boston
Council ended with 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-4 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 19 minutes during Tuesday's 117-99 loss to Boston.
Council has been finding ways to make his presence felt off the bench for the Sixers, and on a team that's in dire need of a second-unit scoring punch, his contributions have been well-received. Council has scored in double digits in four of his last nine appearances, and while he can't be trusted for sustained numbers due to the nature of his role, he's making a case to see more minutes in the short-term picture.

76ers' Ricky Council: Surprises as scoring leader in loss
Council racked up 17 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-8 FT) over 10 minutes during Wednesday's 127-104 loss to the Warriors.
Council came into Wednesday having played in just nine contests this season while spending most of his time in the G League, so his 17-point outburst in just 10 minutes against Golden State came out of nowhere. Granted, most of the rookie's run came in garbage time, but his effort still may have turned some heads, especially given the 76ers' recent struggles in the wake of losing Joel Embiid for an extended period due to a knee injury. Council is shooting 53.8 percent from the field and averaging 31.0 points per 36 minutes in the NBA this season, though the sample size is obviously too small to draw reliable conclusions from.

76ers' Ricky Council: Back with Philly on two-way deal
Council agreed to a two-way contract with the 76ers on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Council joined the 76ers on a two-way deal after going undrafted out of Arkansas in June before being waived by the team Friday. He'll be back with the team a few days later, after the 76ers elected to bring Council aboard on a the two-way spot that had belonged to Azuolas Tubelis, who was waived in a corresponding move. Council averaged just 8.3 minutes per game over three preseason appearances and seems likely to spend most of the 2023-24 campaign in the G League.

76ers' Ricky Council: Lands two-way contract
Council signed a two-way contract with the 76ers on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
After going unselected in the 2023 NBA Draft, Council quickly landed a roster spot with Philadelphia on a deal that will allow him to move between the G League and NBA. Council spent two seasons at Wichita State before transferring to Arkansas ahead of last season. He averaged 16.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 34.1 minutes per game with the Razorbacks and will have a chance to compete for a role with the 76ers.
