Grimes was once again a strong contributor on the offensive end, and he needed only 10 attempts from the field to reach 18 points. Justin Edwards and Grimes were a deadly combination off the bench Tuesday, as the duo combined for 40 points. Grimes has been solid across the board in the last week, averaging 17.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists in four appearances.

Grimes played a whopping 39 minutes, scoring at least 20 points for the second time in the past three games. He has now seen at least 30 minutes in three of his four games, despite continuing to come off the bench. While there is some uncertainty about his long-term role, he should be rostered in all formats for now.

Grimes was somewhat passive Wednesday, although the fact he played 32 minutes is encouraging. Coming off what was a dynamic finish to the 2024-25 season, Grimes will be looking to continue that momentum. If and when the 76ers have a healthy roster, Grimes could find himself playing fewer minutes. Until then, he is worth rostering in most formats.

Grimes (personal) plans to play in Friday's preseason finale against the Timberwolves, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Friday's game will be Grimes' first and only exhibition action after signing a qualifying offer with Philadelphia during training camp. With Jared McCain (thumb) sidelined for the start of the regular season, Grimes is in position to start at shooting guard for the 76ers in the early going.

Grimes (personal) won't play in Friday's preseason game against the Magic, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
After a lengthy negotiation, Grimes settled for a one-year, $8.7 million qualifying offer at the beginning of October. The team had already left for Abu Dhabi before he agreed to the deal, so he missed the team's first two preseason contests and will miss a third Friday. Grimes has only one more chance to suit up -- Friday, Oct. 17, against the Timberwolves -- before the regular season begins.

76ers' Quentin Grimes: Signs qualifying offer
The 76ers signed Grimes (personal) to a one-year, $8.7 million qualifying offer Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Grimes and the 76ers brass have been going back and forth during contract negotiations, which didn't appear to be heading in the right direction. However, now he's back in the fold and has a no-trade clause. He'll become an unrestricted free agent next summer. His participation in the preseason remains uncertain, as it was reported that he wouldn't travel with the team overseas to Dubai before this deal was finalized. After being traded to Philadelphia by the Mavericks, Grimes played in 28 regular-season games, averaging 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game, shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from beyond the arc.
