Thunder's Olivier Sarr: Ruptures Achilles in G League game
The Thunder announced Wednesday that Sarr sustained a ruptured left Achilles' tendon rupture while playing for the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Monday in the club's 117-100 win over the Maine Celtics in Game 3 of the G League Finals.
While the Thunder are expected to release an updated return timetable for Sarr in the coming months, he'll need surgery to address the injury and will likely miss a significant chunk of the 2024-25 season. Sarr split time between the NBA and G League this season as a two-way player and would have been ineligible to compete for the Thunder in the playoffs even if he hadn't suffered the significant injury Monday. Sarr is set to become a restricted free agent this summer.

Thunder's Olivier Sarr: Plays garbage-time minutes Sunday
Sarr (hip) played the final 5:30 of Sunday's 120-104 loss to the Pistons, finishing with zero points (0-1 FG) and one rebound.
Though he was available to play after missing the Thunder's last three games with a right hip strain, Sarr wasn't a part of the rotation while the contest was competitive. He didn't check into the game until after the midway point of the fourth quarter, when the Thunder were trailing by 16 points and had already essentially conceded the win. The two-way player remains behind Chet Holmgren, Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams in the pecking order at center and could be headed to the G League's Oklahoma City Blue in the near future to get more meaningful run.

Despite starting for the Blue, Sarr was lifted after playing just eight minutes in the team's 128-105 win over the Mexico City Capitanes. Thunder's Olivier Sarr: Returns to bench
Sarr isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's season opener against the Bulls, Rylan Stiles of FanSided.com reports.
Sarr will move back to the bench with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander returning to the starting lineup. Sarr made just nine appearances for the Thunder last year but will likely compete with Aleksej Pokusevski for backup center minutes with Jaylin Williams (hamstring) out.

Thunder's Olivier Sarr: Decent in spot start
Sarr recorded 10 points (3-4 FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, an assist and two blocks across 25 minutes in Thursday's 118-116 preseason loss to the Pistons.
Sarr was a surprising addition to the starting lineup in the preseason finale, but he delivered a solid outing on both ends of the court. Based on this performance and the fact that Jaylin Williams (hamstring) will open the season on the injured list, Sarr might be part of the Thunder roster on Opening Night. However, he's not expected to play a prominent role off the bench if that's the case, ultimately limiting his fantasy upside.

Sarr signed a two-way contract with Oklahoma City on Monday.
Sarr moved between Oklahoma City's parent club and its G League affiliate for most of last season, and he'll rejoin the organization on a deal that will allow him to play a similar role in 2023-24. Over nine appearances with the Thunder last season, he averaged 4.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game.

Thunder's Olivier Sarr: Back to bench for Play-In
Sarr will not start Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.
Sarr started the Thunder's regular-season finale with the team resting several of its rotation players and, as expected, will slide to the second unit Wednesday. Considering Sarr has played just nine games this season, he shouldn't be expected to touch the floor.

Thunder's Olivier Sarr: Dominant performance in paint
Sarr racked up 22 points (10-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 15 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 42 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 115-100 win over the Grizzlies.
Sarr had the second-best game of his two-year career, and looked far more proficient than Jeremiah Robinson-Earl in the interior. The Kentucky product only played in nine games with the parent club during the regular season, however, so he doesn't have much fantasy upside.
