Christie will make his first start of the 2024-25 regular season Saturday due to Rui Hachimura (ankle) and Cam Reddish (leg) both being sidelined. Christie's playing time has been inconsistent, but he did play 30 minutes off the bench against the Spurs on Friday and finished with 11 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block.
Christie will return to the bench for Tuesday's preseason game against the Warriors, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
Christie started in place of Austin Reaves (ankle) versus Milwaukee on Thursday, but with Reaves returning, Christie will reassume his role amongst the second unit. However, coach JJ Redick said Tuesday that Reaves will be on a minutes restriction for precautionary reasons, according to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times, so Christie will likely still see heavy usage off the bench.
