Lakers' Austin Reaves: Won't play Wednesday
Reaves (groin) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Spurs, Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Reaves is dealing with a groin injury, which will result in him missing a second straight game. The team will likely turn to Jake LaRavia and Dalton Knecht to help shoulder the load in the backcourt. The next opportunity for Reaves to return will be Saturday against the Hawks.

Lakers' Austin Reaves: Out again Wednesday

Despite going through shootaround, Reaves was unable to shake his questionable tag and will miss a second straight game. His next chance to play comes Saturday against the Hawks. Reaves, after dropping 51 and 41 points in his last two games, respectively, delivered an elite total in a different category. The shooting guard tied his career high in assists, marking his third double-double of the campaign. He also drilled a game-winning 12-footer at the buzzer to give the Lakers a 3-2 record this season. Reaves is proving his breakout 2024-25 campaign wasn't a fluke, and he's averaging 34.2 points, 10.0 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game this season.

Lakers' Austin Reaves: Double-double in blowout win
Reaves registered 25 points (9-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 11 assists and seven rebounds over 37 minutes during the Lakers' 128-110 win over the Timberwolves on Friday.
Reaves flirted with a double-double in Tuesday's loss to the Warriors on Opening Night, but he managed to reach that mark Friday while leading the Lakers in assists and finishing second in points and rebounds to Luka Doncic (49 points and 11 rebounds). Reaves will continue to serve as the Lakers' clear second option on offense behind Doncic until LeBron James (back) is cleared to return, which is expected to be in mid-November.
