  • 76ers' Paul George: Second double-double of season

George (groin) contributed 25 points (10-22 FG, 5-12 3Pt), 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals across 35 minutes during Friday's 123-115 loss to the Pelicans.

Back in Philadelphia's lineup following a one-game absence with a groin injury, George logged his second double-double of the season in one of his stronger efforts in 2024-25 thus far. The star forward's numbers remain disappointing amid what has been a rocky and injury-plagued transition during his first year with the 76ers, but he's looked more comfortable since the calendar flipped to January. Through his past five outings, George is averaging 20.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.6 threes while shooting 41.9 percent from long range.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Officially good to go

Goerge (groin) is available and in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Pelicans.

George has been upgraded from probable to available Friday after missing Philadelphia's previous two contests due to left groin soreness. The star forward has struggled with his efficiency as of late, shooting just 38.1 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from three across his last 10 appearances.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Expected to play Friday

George (groin) is listed as probable for Friday's game versus the Pelicans.

George is expected to return to action Friday after missing Philadelphia's previous outing due to left groin soreness. If George is further upgraded to available, he will likely reclaim his starting spot from Eric Gordon.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Practices Thursday

George (groin) participated in Thursday's practice, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.

George missed Philadelphia's previous contest due to left groin tightness. While the team has yet to release an official injury report, George's return to practice is a good sign of his availability for Friday's matchup with New Orleans.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Ruled out for Wednesday

George won't play Wednesday against the Wizards due to left groin tightness.

After logging 38 minutes Monday against the Suns, George will be held out against the Wizards with what is seemingly a new injury. Joel Embiid (foot) is also out for the 76ers, leaving a ton of usage for guys like Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre to soak up. George's next chance to play will be Friday against the Pelicans.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Rough shooting performance

George finished with 13 points (5-18 FG, 3-9 3Pt), nine rebounds, five assists and two steals in 38 minutes during Monday's 109-99 loss to Phoenix.

George has struggled to reclaim his form as one of the best two-way players in the NBA with the 76ers. Even though he recorded two steals, grabbed five rebounds and dished out two assists in the loss to the Suns, George went 5-for-18 from the floor. The 34-year-old is currently shooting a career-low 41.4 percent from the field on the season and 33.5 percent from beyond the arc, which is the second-worst percentage of his career from deep.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Goes for 30 points in loss

George accumulated 30 points (11-20 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 36 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 113-107 loss to the Kings.

Even though the 76ers lost a tight game, George delivered a solid stat line. He recorded his second-best scoring output of the campaign, only bested by the 33-point performance he delivered in the win over the Hornets on Dec. 16. More important than that is the fact that this was a massive bounce-back effort for George. He hit the 15-point mark just once in his previous six contests before starting the new year with this strong showing.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Records season-high five steals

George provided 13 points (4-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), three rebounds, two assists and five steals in 32 minutes during Saturday's 114-111 victory over the Jazz.

George's work on defense proved to be invaluable in the win, as his five steals offset a low shot volume. George will have to adjust to life as the third-best scoring option when Joel Embiid is active, but he's proving to be a great upgrade for Philly during his first year with the team. Injuries have been an issue this season, but he's logged nine consecutive games in the starting lineup following his last absence.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Near double-double vs. Spurs

George closed with 19 points (6-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-7 FT), nine rebounds and four assists over 37 minutes during Monday's 111-106 victory over the Spurs.

George finished Monday's game as the 76ers' second-leading scorer behind Tyrese Maxey (32) and took on a larger role on offense after Joel Embiid was ejected in the second quarter. George has registered at least five rebounds in six straight games, and over that span he has averaged 15.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 steals over 35.4 minutes per contest.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Struggles in loss to Cavaliers

George amassed 11 points (4-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 27 minutes during Saturday's 126-99 loss to the Cavaliers.

George was initially deemed questionable to play in this contest before being upgraded to available, but the veteran forward didn't perform even remotely close to his best. The Sixers needed a better performance out of their star forward, particularly since Joel Embiid (knee) was out and Tyrese Maxey was largely inefficient despite scoring a team-high 27 points, but that wasn't the case. Perhaps the lone positive aspect is that George played on both legs of a back-to-back set for the first time this season. George, however, shot a combined 6-for-24 in this back-to-back set.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Active Saturday

George (knee) will play in Saturday's game against the Cavaliers, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

George will suit up for the second leg of the 76ers back-to-back set despite being labeled questionable leading up to the contest. In his last five games, George has averaged 17.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.6 combined steals-plus-blocks across 37.2 minutes.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Officially deemed questionable

George (knee) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Cavaliers.

Although head coach Nick Nurse said Friday that he expects George to play Saturday, the 76ers could opt to rest the star forward for precautionary reasons on the second leg of a back-to-back. If George is ultimately ruled out, Caleb Martin and Ricky Council are candidates to receive increased playing time.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Set to play in back-to-back set

Philadelphia head coach Nick Nurse said after Friday's 108-98 win over the Hornets that he expects George to play Saturday against the Cavaliers, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. George recorded five points (2-12 FG, 1-7 3Pt), 10 rebounds, eight assists, three steals and one block in 39 minutes Friday.

Back in October, 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey told Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com that he didn't expect George and Joel Embiid to "not play many back to backs, if any" this season. While the 76ers have already ruled out Embiid for Saturday's contest after he returned from a one-game absence due to a sinus fracture in Friday's win, the organization's plans for George in back-to-back sets look to be less strict. Though George has already missed games in 2024-25 with a bone bruise in his left knee and a hyperextension of the same knee, the 34-year-old has suited up for each of the past five contests and is now poised to play in both halves of a back-to-back set for the first time all season. The 76ers could look to be more conservative with his workload Saturday, however, given the big minutes he played Friday.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Erupts for season-high 33

George contributed 33 points (13-20 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, eight assists, one block and two steals in 40 minutes during Monday's 121-108 win over Charlotte.

The veteran forward delivered his highest-scoring game as a 76er so far, while also making an impact at the defensive end of the court. Philly is still keeping an eye on George's troublesome knee, but he played a season high in minutes Monday and might be getting close to 100 percent healthy. Over his last six appearances, George is averaging 20.2 points, 5.7 assists, 5.2 boards, 2.8 threes, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 45.9 percent (17-for-37) from beyond the arc.
