Athletics' Hogan Harris: Recalled from Triple-A
The Athletics recalled Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.
With Jacob Lopez heading down to the minors and Jose Leclerc (lat) landing on the injured list, the A's will promote Harris and Grant Holman to replenish their bullpen depth. Harris has made six appearances at Las Vegas this season, giving up five earned runs across 9.1 innings while striking out 12 batters and walking five. He'll presumably work in middle relief while with the big club.

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Sent to minors
The Athletics optioned Harris to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Harris was sent to the minors to clear a spot on the 26-man roster for reliever Angel Perdomo, whom the Athletics claimed off waivers from the Angels. After he was unable to win a spot in the Athletics' season-opening rotation during spring training, Harris headed to the bullpen and collected a hold in his lone relief appearance Saturday against the Mariners prior to being demoted. Harris could get stretched back out as a starter with Las Vegas.

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Earns first hold of season
Harris allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one over one-third of a scoreless inning to earn a hold in Saturday's 4-2 victory over Seattle.
Harris shuffled between Triple-A and the majors last season despite good numbers but finally established himself in the bullpen late in the year. He had a 2.50 ERA with a 19:8 K:BB in 18 innings after being called up from Triple-A in late August last season. He had a strong 24.1 percent strikeout rate at Triple-A last season and 20.0 percent in the majors, but will need to reduce his walks to stay up with the big club.

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Takes fourth loss Saturday
Harris (4-4) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing a game-winning solo home run to the only batter he faced.
Closer Mason Miller had garnered a 21-pitch save Friday night, so Harris was called on to preserve a 6-6 tie in the ninth Saturday. There wasn't much suspense before he proved he wasn't up to the task, as Andrew Benintendi took Harris deep to right field on the fourth pitch he saw from the left-hander for the game-winning hit. Harris was fresh after last having pitched Tuesday, but the stumble resulted in the third run he'd allowed over his last four appearances (4.2 innings).

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Picks up fourth win Tuesday
Harris (4-3) got the extra-innings win against the Astros on Tuesday, allowing an unearned run on one hit over two innings. He struck out three.
Harris breezed through his first frame in the 11th while preserving a 2-2 tie, striking out two of the three batters he faced. He returned for the 12th after the Athletics had rallied for two runs in the top half of the frame, and although he allowed a double to Jose Altuve, Harris subsequently bore down and retired the dangerous trio of Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman to end the game. Harris has been effective out of the bullpen since his return to the big-league club in late August, mustering a 2-0 record, 0.93 ERA and 0.93 WHIP across 9.2 innings over five appearances.

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Earns win in stellar relief outing
Harris (3-3) got the win against the Mariners on Tuesday, firing three scoreless innings during which he allowed two walks and recorded three strikeouts.
Harris took over following a quality start from rookie J.T. Ginn and put together a highly efficient long-relief effort, requiring only 37 pitches to record nine outs. The left-hander helped keep the Mariners at bay and then reaped the rewards when Seth Brown hit a walk-off single, affording Harris the first victory of his current big-league stint. Harris is likely to continue being used in a relief role down the stretch, although multi-inning outings will likely be the norm given he's capable of tolerating the elevated workloads.
