Marlins' Will Banfield: Heads to injured list
Banfield was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday for undisclosed reasons, Andersen Pickard of MLBDailyDish.com reports.
Due to privacy concerns, if Banfield's absence were due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Marlins wouldn't legally be allowed to confirm as much. Banfield is very unlikely to play a role for the Marlins even if healthy this season, as he's seemingly nothing more than a depth option considering that he's yet to reach the High-A level.

Marlins' Will Banfield: Joins 60-man player pool
Banfield is part of the Marlins' 60-man player pool, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
While Banfield is one of the top defensive catchers in the Marlins' organization, he has shown very little offensively over 140 games in pro ball. These struggles have prevented him from advancing past Low-A, so he is unlikely to see action in the majors this season barring multiple injuries ahead of him on the depth chart.
