Zach Reks: Headed to KBO
Reks was granted his release from the Rangers on Tuesday after agreeing to a one-year, $310,000 contract with the Korea Baseball Organization's Lotte Giants, Jee-ho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports.
The 28-year-old had logged 34 plate appearances in the majors this season but has seen the bulk of his action at Triple-A Round Rock, with whom he slashed .331/.421/.579 over 34 games. Reks will spend the rest of 2022 in the KBO with the hope of playing well enough to earn a more lucrative MLB deal during the upcoming offseason.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Designated for assignment
Reks was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Saturday.
Reks was sent to the minors just under a month ago, and he'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster as part of a move after Jonathan Hernandez (elbow) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday. Reks will likely remain at Triple-A Round Rock if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Heads back to minors
The Rangers optioned Reks to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
Reks' latest stint in the big leagues lasted 10 days, with the 28-year-old appearing in seven games while going 4-for-12 with a run scored. With Texas bringing back designated hitter/catcher Mitch Garver (illness) from the COVID-19-related injured list and Josh H. Smith (shoulder) back from the 10-day IL, the team no longer had room on the roster for Reks as a depth option.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Recalled from Round Rock
Reks was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Reks was optioned to Round Rock earlier this month, but he will rejoin the big club with fellow outfielder Steele Walker landing on the COVID-19 Related injured list. As he did earlier in the season, expect Reks to fill a reserve spot in the Rangers' outfield.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Starts after call-up
Reks started in left field and went 0-for-4 in Monday's 9-5 win over the Rays.
With Brad Miller (hip) landing on the injured list, the lefty-hitting Reks was called up and got the start against Tampa Bay righty Drew Rasmussen. This is Reks' second stint in Texas, after he previously went 4-for-14 with three RBI over six games. For Triple-A Round Rock, Reks slashed .337/.427/.629 over 103 plate appearances.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Recalled by Texas
Reks was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Reks spent just under two weeks with the major-league club in late April and early May, and he went 4-for-14 with a double, three RBI, two runs and six strikeouts over six games. However, he'll provide additional outfield depth for the Rangers after Brad Miller (hip) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Goes to minors
Texas optioned Reks to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
Lefty Kolby Allard was called up from Triple-A to replace Reks on the 26-man active roster. Following his April 30 promotion, Reks largely served as a reserve outfielder for the Rangers, seeing action in six games while posting a .643 OPS across 14 plate appearances.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Knocks in two
Reks went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Phillies.
Reks' pinch-hit, two-run double turned out to be the game-winning hit. He's hit safely in all three games since being called up to the majors, including 2-for-2 as a pinch hitter. Reks remained in the game and played left field. Since his callup, he started in left field against the one right-handed starter the Rangers faced, which suggests he could be moving ahead of Brad Miller as the primary left fielder against righties. More insight should be gleaned when Texas faces Zack Wheeler on Wednesday.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Used before Miller
Reks went 1-for-2 as a pinch hitter then left fielder during Sunday's 7-3 win over Atlanta.
With a left-hander hurling for Atlanta, lefty hitters Reks and Brad Miller took a seat, while Nick Solak started in left. After Solak and Eli White were removed for pinch hitters midgame, Reks took over in left field. That was interesting in that Miller, who started the season as the primary left fielder, remained on the bench while the recently called-up Reks entered the contest.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Collects first MLB hit
Reks started in left field and went 1-for-3 with an RBI and was caught stealing in Saturday's 3-1 win over Atlanta.
Reks was called up Saturday and started in place of Brad Miller, another lefty bat that had been the primary left fielder against right-handed starters. Reks collected his first hit in seven games in the majors and could get more opportunities with Miller mired in a 6-for-41 (.146) stretch over the last 15 games. The 28-year-old does not have a history of steals in the minors -- he's collected just 13 in 358 games -- so additional playing time is unlikely to provide value in that fantasy category.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Called up, starting Saturday
Reks was recalled by the Rangers and is starting Saturday against Atlanta.
Reks was sent to the minors in late March, and he hit .283 with a triple, five doubles, seven runs, seven RBI and a stolen base over 16 games at Triple-A Round Rock. He'll make his debut with the Rangers on Saturday, and he'll start in left field while batting seventh.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Demoted Sunday
Reks was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, John Blake of the Rangers reports.
Reks was acquired by the Rangers during the offseason after having spent the first part of his professional career with the Dodgers. He made a brief big-league debut with Los Angeles in 2021, but he spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Though he'll begin the 2022 campaign in the minors, Reks could earn opportunity in the big leagues as the season progresses.

Rangers' Zach Reks: Sent to Rangers
Reks and Billy McKinney were sent from the Dodgers to the Rangers on Monday in exchange for cash considerations.
Reks made his major-league debut at age-27 last season, going 0-for-10 with seven strikeouts in very limited action. He performed much better in 87 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, hitting .280/.382/.539 with 19 homers, but a strong minor-league season from a player in his late twenties shouldn't generate too much excitement.

Dodgers' Zach Reks: Designated for assignment
Reks was designated for assignment Friday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
The Dodgers have several players who are similar to Reks and are also on the 40-man roster, so they opted to risk losing him to waivers. Reks has big power but his defense in the outfield corners is shaky.

Dodgers' Zach Reks: Recalled from Triple-A
Reks was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Tuesday's game against the Astros, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Known for his big left-handed power, Reks is hitting .312/.409/.583 with 12 home runs in 53 games at Triple-A this season, but he has made just 10 plate appearances in the majors. He should function as a power bat off the bench in the short term.

Reks was called up by the Dodgers on Monday, and he went 0-for-6 with five strikeouts across three appearances during his time in the majors. He'll now head back to Triple-A after outfielder Billy McKinney was activated by the Dodgers in a corresponding move.

Dodgers' Zach Reks: Back in big leagues
Reks was recalled by the Dodgers on Monday.
Reks had only just been sent down Wednesday but returns less than a week later, with Gavin Lux (hamstring) hitting the injured list in a corresponding move. Reks has appeared in three big-league games this season, going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts, but he owns an excellent .325/.421/.595 slash line in 43 games for Triple-A Oklahoma.
