Marlins' Dane Myers: Ready for live BP
Myers (ankle) is scheduled to advance his running progression and take live batting practice this week, MLB.com reports.
On the shelf since July 14 after he fractured his left ankle when he kicked a clubhouse door following his ejection from a game a day earlier, Myers looks to be gearing up for a return from the 60-day injured list at some point during the final week of the season. When healthy this season, Myers has typically been used in the short side of a platoon in the Miami outfield. He logged 95 plate appearances prior to landing on the IL and slashed .265/.337/.422 with two home runs and four stolen bases.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Cleared for baseball activities
Myers (ankle) announced Monday that he has been cleared for baseball activities, MLB.com reports.
After fracturing his left ankle July 13, Myers had been limited to upper-body workouts and running on an anti-gravity treadmill before getting the green light to resume baseball work. Given the length of his layoff, Myers will need to time to complete a running program and regain his timing at the plate, so he probably won't be a realistic option to return from the 60-day injured list until the latter part of September.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Shifts to 60-day IL
The Marlins transferred Myers (ankle) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.
Myers was ruled out 6-to-8 weeks after he suffered a fractured ankle in mid-July, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline. The 28-year-old will be eligible to be activated in mid-September, though any setbacks in his rehab program could prevent him from returning before the end of the season.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Placed on 10-day IL
Myers (ankle) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Myers was diagnosed with a fractured left ankle Saturday and is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks, so Thursday's move to the IL comes as no surprise. The Marlins will likely promote someone to provide outfield depth prior to Friday's game against the Mets.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Out 6-to-8 weeks with ankle injury
Myers suffered a fractured left ankle kicking the clubhouse door Saturday and will miss 6-to-8 weeks, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.
The righty-hitting outfielder was slashing .265/.337/.422 with two home runs and four steals in 95 plate appearances. Myers had been mostly limited to starts against left-handed pitchers this season, and the injury explains his absence from Sunday's matchup against lefty Nick Lodolo.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Sitting against lefty Sunday
Myers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
Myers looked to be moving into a full-time role last week, but he now finds himself on the bench for the fourth time in six contests. The right-handed-hitting Myers had previously occupied the short side of a platoon in right field with the lefty-hitting Jesus Sanchez, but the Marlins will keep Sanchez in the lineup over Myers while southpaw Nick Lodolo takes the hill for the Reds on Sunday.

Marlins' Dane Myers: On bench again Friday
Myers is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.
Myers has gone 8-for-19 with three doubles and a home run over his past seven games, but he'll nonetheless hit the bench Friday for the second straight contest. Nick Gordon, Jazz Chisholm and Jesus Sanchez will start across the outfield while Bryan De La Cruz serves as the designated hitter against Cincinnati righty Carson Spiers.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Shines in win
Myers went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.
Myers' third-inning RBI single got the Marlins on the board, and his two-run homer in the seventh put them ahead for good. Myers is 6-for-11 with four extra-base hits over his last three contests. He's up to a .268/.333/.451 slash line with two homers, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored and three stolen bases through 81 plate appearances. He doesn't have a full-time place in the lineup yet, but he's pushing for more playing time in right field over Jesus Sanchez.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Contributes in Friday's start
Myers went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.
Seeing his first action in July, Myers chased Drew Thorpe from the game with a seventh-inning double before scoring the Marlins' first run of the night. The 28-year-old outfielder is beginning to see his playing time tick up, and he's taking advantage -- Myers has started three of the last eight games while also coming off the bench in a fourth, going 4-for-12 (.333) during that brief stretch with three of his five doubles and two of his three steals on the season. With Miami desperate for offense, manager Skip Schumaker could write Myers' name on the lineup card more frequently heading into the All-Star break.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Swats second career homer
Myers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Mets.
Myers tagged Sean Manaea for a two-run homer in the second inning, marking Myers' first homer of 2024 and just the second long ball of his career. Since being called up April 28, Myers is slashing .269/.367/.462 with 12 strikeouts in 30 plate appearances.

Marlins' Dane Myers: Swipes bag in Thursday's start
Myers went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Rockies.
Getting the start in left field and batting seventh against right-hander Peter Lambert, Myers led off the bottom of the fourth inning by drawing a walk and promptly swiping second base, coming around to score on a Nick Fortes single. Myers has seen regular action between all three outfield positions since being promoted in late April and has gone 5-for-11 at the plate with a steal, three runs and five RBI. If he keeps producing, Myers represents a threat to the playing time of the struggling Nick Gordon (.516 OPS) and Jesus Sanchez (.614 OPS).

Marlins' Dane Myers: Bangs out triple in 2024 debut
Myers went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.
Getting the start in right field and batting seventh in his season debut with the Marlins, Myers ripped a three-bagger off Patrick Corbin in the first inning and came around to score on Vidal Brujan's own triple in the very next at-bat. While he's in the majors, Myers will likely be deployed primarily against southpaws behind Miami's outfield trio of Jazz Chisholm, Jesus Sanchez and Nick Gordon, all of whom hit left-handed. If he gets hot at the plate though, the offense-starved Marlins could give Myers more playing time than expected.
