The Brewers signed Pannone to a minor-league contract Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Pannone last appeared in the majors in 2023 with the Brewers, allowing two runs over 2.2 innings. The left-hander spent the 2024 campaign at the Triple-A level split between the Cubs and Yankees organizations, holding a 3.54 ERA and 136:38 K:BB across 152.1 innings covering 30 starts. Pannone will likely begin the 2025 season in the Triple-A Nashville rotation.

Yankees' Thomas Pannone: Joins Bronx Bombers
Pannone signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Friday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
The left-hander spent the first half of the season on a minor-league deal with the Cubs but was released earlier this week. Over a small sample of eight innings in spring training, Pannone struck out six while allowing just one earned run on four hits and one walk. Despite the strong showing in Cactus League play, Pannone was unable to win a spot in the Cubs' Opening Day bullpen after attending camp as a non-roster invitee. Pannone made one appearance with the Brewers in 2023 before finishing the season in Korea. The 29-year-old left-hander holds a career 5.46 ERA over 50 appearances (13 starts) across parts of three seasons in the majors. He seems likely to begin the 2024 season as rotation depth at Triple-A Iowa.

Pannone inked his deal with the KBO club one day after being granted his release from the Brewers, who had designated him for assignment last week. The 29-year-old southpaw made one relief appearance for the big club before being dropped from the Brewers' 40-man roster, but he was productive in a starting role at Triple-A Nashville this season, logging a 2.70 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 50:13 K:BB in 53.1 innings.
