Brewers' Abner Uribe: Ready for spring debut
Uribe (knee) will make his Cactus League debut Wednesday against the White Sox, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Uribe has been brought along slowly in Brewers camp after surgery last July to repair a lateral meniscus tear. The 24-year-old has the stuff to fill a high-leverage role in the Milwaukee bullpen, but Uribe struggled during his stint in the majors last season and might go to Triple-A Nashville for a while to make up for lost time.

Brewers' Abner Uribe: Going slow
Uribe will go slow as he comes back from right knee surgery, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
He underwent surgery to repair a lateral miniscus tear in mid-June of 2024. This is a vague report, but it sounds like Uribe's status is questionable for Opening Day. Brewers closer Trevor Megill is dealing with an undisclosed injury, so if Uribe can get up to speed and Megill's injury lingers, Uribe could figure into the ninth-inning mix.

Brewers' Abner Uribe: Candidate for saves
Uribe (knee) is a candidate to earn save chances after Devin Williams was traded to the Yankees on Friday, Brian Murphy of MLB.com reports.
Uribe began the 2024 season as the closer for the Brewers with Williams on the injured list, though he lost the role in mid-April and didn't appear in the majors after May 1. His primary appeal in the ninth-inning role is his velocity, as he averages over 100 mph on his fastball. However, he has a 16.6 percent walk rate in 45 career innings in the majors, leaving Trevor Megill as seemingly the top option entering 2025.

Brewers' Abner Uribe: Expected to be ready for spring
Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Thursday that Uribe (knee) is expected to be 100 percent for the start of spring training, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Uribe underwent surgery in July to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee, an injury he suffered while at Triple-A Nashville. The hard-throwing righty had a brief turn as the Brewers' closer at the beginning of the season but finished with a 6.91 ERA and 1.88 WHIP across 14.1 innings in the majors. Uribe has the stuff to be a high-leverage reliever if he can throw enough strikes.
