Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Blasts solo homer off Skenes
Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Pirates.
Manzardo gave the Guardians a two-run lead in the seventh inning, when he took the first pitch in the at-bat from Paul Skenes deep to right field for a solo homer. It was Manzardo's fifth homer of the season, which already ties his total amount from the 2024 regular season. The 24-year-old is top-10 in the American League in both home runs and RBI (13) and 16th in slugging percentage (.500) to start the year.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Grabbing seat Thursday
Manzardo is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore.
Manzardo is just 1-for-14 at the dish over his last five games, so he'll get a day off to regroup. Jose Ramirez is handling designated-hitter duties for the Guardians on Thursday, while Gabriel Arias plays third base and Daniel Schneemann covers second.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Getting day off versus lefty
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
With the Royals sending southpaw Cole Ragans to the bump, Manzardo will head to the bench for just the second time through the Guardians' first 15 games. Jose Ramirez will get a day out of the infield and will serve as Cleveland's designated hitter in place of Manzardo, who is batting .125 with a 16.7 percent walk rate and 28.6 percent strikeout rate so far in April.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Homers early in win
Manzardo started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.
Manzardo, who was recently moved into the cleanup spot, went yard in the first inning for what proved to be the game-winning hit. It was his fourth home run through 12 games, and Manzardo's 11 RBI leads the club. He made only six starts at first base in 2024 compared to 40 at DH, denying him 1B eligibility in more restrictive fantasy formats, and Thursday's game was his third start at the position in 2025. The Guardians' desire to manage the workload of 39-year-old Carlos Santana, Cleveland's primary first baseman, should result in Manzardo gaining some extra positional flexibility later this season.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Makes first start in field
Manzardo started at first base and went 0-for-3 with an RBI in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Padres.
Like most Cleveland hitters, Manzardo had a quiet series (0-for-9) against the Padres, who swept the Guardians. Manzardo, who was the DH in his first five starts, made his debut in the field Wednesday, with the 38-year-old Carlos Santana moving from first base to DH. Manzardo, whose primary position in the minors was first base, has served mostly in the DH role since coming up to the majors in 2024.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Receives day off Monday
Manzardo is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in San Diego.
The left-handed hitting Manzardo started each of the first three contests of the season, including one versus a southpaw, but he'll get a day off Monday against lefty Kyle Hart. Johnathan Rodriguez is getting a start at designated hitter as Manzardo rests.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Huge day in opener
Manzardo went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, a double, a triple and four total RBI in Thursday's 7-4 win over Kansas City.
Manzardo starred in Cleveland's Opening Day win, ultimately winding up a single shy of a cycle. The left-hander put the Guardians ahead 4-3 with a two-run homer off Angel Zerpa in the fourth inning before driving in two more runs with a triple in the 10th, the first of his MLB career. Manzardo already came into the season as a popular sleeper candidate after a strong showing in Spring Training. He slashed .234/.282/.421 with five homers and 15 RBI in 156 plate appearances as a rookie last year.

Manzardo has a .976 OPS through 16 games in spring training and appears set to fill a full-time role between first base and designated hitter for the Guardians.

Manzardo launched his third Cactus League home run and is batting .412 (14-for-34) with five extra-base hits and seven RBI through 13 games. The 24-year-old should be a lineup regular in 2025 for the Guardians, either at designated hitter or first base.
