Allen (illness) will bat third and start behind the plate Friday against the White Sox, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Allen was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to illness, but he's ready to go again two days later. The minor setback shouldn't impact his readiness for Opening Day, though there's no guarantee he breaks camp with the team after Stephen Vogt was signed as competition for the backup catcher spot in late March.
