Rangers' Rowdy Tellez: Agrees to MiLB deal with Texas
Tellez signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Friday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Tellez clubbed 11 home runs over 62 games with Seattle earlier this season, but he batted just .208 and posted a 26.5 percent strikeout rate. The veteran first baseman will now get a chance to try to make his way back to the majors with the Rangers -- his fourth organization over the past three years. Tellez could have a path to the big-league roster as a left-handed power bat given that Joc Pederson (hand) is likely still weeks away from a return.

Rowdy Tellez: Released by Mariners
The Mariners released Tellez on Thursday.
Tellez passed through waivers unclaimed after being booted from Seattle's 40-man roster and is now free to latch on with another organization. The 30-year-old slashed .208/.249/.434 with 11 homers for the Mariners and seems likely to have to settle for a minor-league contract.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Cut from Mariners' 40-man roster
The Mariners designated Tellez for assignment Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
The Mariners needed to free up a spot on the active roster for the return of Luke Raley (oblique), and Tellez is the casualty. Tellez has slugged 11 home runs this season, but he's sporting just a .208/.249/.434 batting line and 49:8 K:BB over 62 contests. The 30-year-old is likely to clear waivers and eventually become a free agent.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Swats homer in win
Tellez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's 7-2 win over the Guardians.
Tellez is batting .258 (8-for-31) over 10 games in June, with three of his hits in that span going over the fence. The first baseman is up to 11 homers, 27 RBI, 18 runs scored and a .214/.257/.453 slash line through 58 contests. His power has often come in bunches this season, but he's just two long balls shy of matching his total from each of the last two years, so he's doing just fine in a strong-side platoon role.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Reaches 10-homer mark
Tellez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Tellez went back-to-back with Randy Arozarena in the sixth inning to get the Mariners on the board, but it didn't spark a larger rally. Tellez is up to 10 homers this season, but he's hit just two of them over his last 20 contests. The slugger has a .208/.253/.429 slash line with 26 RBI, 17 runs scored and four doubles over 166 plate appearances in a strong-side platoon role at first base.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Goes yard in defeat
Tellez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to Baltimore.
Tellez snapped a 12-game homerless cold spell, also plating just his second run since May 18. The veteran slugger has functioned as Seattle's primary first baseman this season, although it appears that pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park is severely hampering his fantasy appeal. Tellez boasts a .915 OPS over 67 at-bats on the road, but he owns a dismal .483 OPS across 68 at-bats at home.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Idle against southpaw
Tellez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Tellez will take a seat for the second straight game while the Astros send another lefty to the hill in Colton Gordon. Donovan Solano will cover first base in Tellez's stead.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Goes deep in Saturday's win
Tellez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Padres.
Tellez tied the game at 1-1 with his eighth homer of the season, a fifth-inning solo shot. The first baseman had gone 0-for-8 over his previous four games. He's been flirting with the Mendoza Line all year, and he's now at a .200/.252/.484 slash line with 22 RBI, 14 runs scored and three doubles over 103 plate appearances. Interestingly enough, Tellez has hit six of his homers and supplied 15 of his RBI on Fridays or Saturdays this season.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Clubs homer in loss
Tellez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Blue Jays.
Tellez has two homers over his last three games and a total of six long balls on the season. He's hit well in May, going 8-for-26 (.308) with seven RBI over eight contests. The slugger is batting .205 with a .713 OPS through 90 plate appearances while handling a strong-side platoon role at first base this season.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Racks up three hits in win
Tellez went 3-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 13-1 win over the Rangers.
Since a three-game stretch with three homers and seven RBI from April 18-20 in Toronto, Tellez had gone just 2-for-12 across his last eight games. The first baseman broke out of that funk with a trio of singles Friday, making him one of six Mariners to log multiple hits in this blowout win. He's batting .194 with a .680 OPS, four homers, 13 RBI, nine runs scored and no stolen bases over 69 plate appearances this season. Tellez is in a strong-side platoon role at first base, though Donovan Solano has poached a few at-bats versus righties.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Resting against left-hander
Tellez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.
Tellez will take a seat on the bench Saturday with the left-handed Patrick Corbin due to start on the bump for Texas. Donovan Solano will fill in as Seattle's first baseman and bat sixth.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Getting day off versus lefty
Tellez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
With southpaw Tyler Anderson on the hill for the Angels, the left-handed-hitting Tellez will take a seat along with switch hitter Jorge Polanco, who hasn't been batting from the right side of late while managing a side injury. Cal Raleigh will get a day off from catching and will fill in for Polanco as Seattle's designated hitter, while Donovan Solano covers Tellez's usual post at first base.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Back in lineup Tuesday
Tellez (hand) is back in the lineup and batting sixth for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Tellez was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup but is back in action against Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz. Tellez is slashing .170/.250/.434 with four home runs, 12 RBI and seven runs scored across 60 plate appearances this season.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Late scratch Sunday
Tellez (hand) was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Tellez had X-rays on his left hand come back negative after being hit by a pitch Saturday, but he'll still end up sitting out at least one game after initially being listed on the lineup card. Donovan Solano will step in at first base for the Mariners in the series finale.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Good to go Sunday
Tellez (hand) is starting at first base and batting sixth Sunday against the Marlins.
The 30-year-old exited Saturday's contest after being hit by a pitch on the left hand, but he's back in the lineup Sunday after X-rays came back negative. Tellez has found his power stroke over the past couple weeks and has a .316/.435/.842 slash line with three homers in his past nine games.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: X-rays clean on left hand
X-rays on Tellez's left hand came back negative following Saturday's 14-0 win over the Marlins, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Tellez's left hand was hit by a pitch from Anthony Veneziano in the fourth inning of Saturday's game. Tellez initially stayed in the game but was replaced at first base by Donovan Solano before the start of the sixth. The clean MRI is good news for Tellez, but he could be held out of Sunday's series finale with the Mariners slated for an off day Monday.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Out versus left-hander
Tellez is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Boston.
It's southpaw Garrett Crochet on the bump for the Red Sox, so the left-handed-hitting Tellez will begin the contest on the bench. Donovan Solano is starting at first base and batting sixth for the Mariners in Thursday's series finale.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Sitting against lefty
Tellez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Lefty Sean Newcomb will be on the bump for Boston, so the lefty-hitting Tellez will retreat to the bench Wednesday. Donovan Solano will start at first base in place of Tellez.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: Drills second homer amid slow start
Tellez homered in his lone at-bat in Friday's loss to Toronto, adding a walk.
Tellez drilled a solo homer into right field in the second inning, putting the Mariners on the board and tying the game at 1-1. A strong showing during spring training allowed Tellez to make Seattle's Opening Day roster, but the veteran slugger is off to an icy start at the plate while functioning on the strong side of a platoon at first base with Donovan Solano. Tellez is slashing .135/.195/.324 with two long balls, one double and five RBI through 41 plate appearances (14 games), so he can be left on waiver wires in the majority of fantasy leagues.
