Phillies' Dustin Peterson: Shipped to Phillies
The Phillies acquired Peterson from the Brewers on Tuesday for cash considerations and assigned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
With Philadelphia having dealt away Adam Haseley prior to the start of the season and with Odubel Herrera (oblique) and Mickey Moniak (hand) currently residing on the injured list, the addition of Peterson helps restore some organizational outfield depth. Peterson appeared in 17 games at the big-league level with the Tigers in 2019, but since that time, he's played exclusively at Triple-A Nashville. Over 329 plate appearances with the Brewers' top affiliate in 2021, Peterson slashed .271/.347/.416 with nine home runs and 56 RBI.

The 26-year-old first baseman/corner outfielder attracted the attention of the Brewers through his performance in the Mexican Winter League, where he's slashed .316/.373/.602 with 11 home runs in 37 games with Monterrey. Tigers' Dustin Peterson: Listed as bench option
Peterson (elbow) is listed as an available bench option for the Tigers in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
Peterson has yet to make his spring debut, but his inclusion on the lineup card is an indication that he's moved past the elbow injury that resulted in him being shut down for the remainder of the 2019 season in July. Detroit outrighted Peterson off the 40-man roster during the offseason, so he's slated to open the campaign at Triple-A Toledo.

Tigers' Dustin Peterson: Heads to bench
Peterson is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Peterson had started six of the Tigers' last eight games, including the first two contests of the series with Chicago as a replacement for the banged-up Christin Stewart (quadriceps). With Stewart's stay on the injured list set to last through at least next weekend, Peterson should have some runway as the Tigers' main option in left field, but he's done nothing offensively yet to suggest he's worth much attention outside of AL-only leagues.

Tigers' Dustin Peterson: Replaces Stewart in left field
Peterson will start in left field and bat sixth Thursday against the White Sox, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Peterson enters the lineup in place of Christin Stewart (quadriceps), who was placed on the 10-day injured list earlier in the day. The Tigers recalled Brandon Dixon from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move, but he's likely to serve merely as bench depth rather than challenging for the everyday role vacated by Stewart. Peterson thus looks like he may be in line for full-time work versus lefties and righties, making him someone to consider picking up in AL-only leagues.
