  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Delivers run in win

Seager went 1-for-4 with two walks, a double and an RBI in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the White Sox. Seager got the Rangers on the board with a run-producing double in the fifth inning. It was the second consecutive game with an RBI for Seager, who hasn't been productive since a return from the injured list in late May. He's gone 5-for-48 (.104) with a double, two RBI and three runs scored over 14 games played since coming off the IL. On a positive note, Saturday's bases on balls extended a walk streak to nine games (13 walks, .381 OBP).

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Sitting Saturday

Seager is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Nationals on Saturday. Seager is in the midst of a slump, having gone 0-for-18 with three walks and eight strikeouts over his last five games. He'll begin Saturday's contest in the dugout while Ezequiel Duran starts at shortstop and bats ninth.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Serves as DH in return

Seager (hamstring) served as the Rangers' designated hitter and went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's 2-0 loss to Toronto. Seager was activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday and was eased back into the lineup in a non-defensive role in his first game back. Despite tending to a calf injury late in spring training and having already landed on the IL on two occasions due to right hamstring strains, Seager has been the most productive hitter for a struggling Texas offense when he's been available, slashing .288/.333/.500 with six home runs in 27 games.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Officially activated

Seager (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays. Seager has been idle since May 11 due to a right hamstring strain, and after a brief stint on the injured list, he's been cleared to rejoin the active roster. The Rangers optioned Blaine Crim to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. Seager is slashing .300/.346/.520 with six homers, 15 runs and 12 RBI over 107 plate appearances this season.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: To return Wednesday

Seager (hamstring) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday against the Blue Jays, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. He faced live pitching over the weekend and was expected to be activated sometime during this series against Toronto. It was the second hamstring-related IL stint for Seager this season.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Nearing return

Seager (hamstring) faced live pitching Saturday and is expected to be activated off the 10-day injured list during a homestand that begins Monday, MLB.com reports. The homestand runs from Monday to the following Sunday, so that's still a fairly wide window. With injuries piling up for the Rangers -- Joc Pederson (hand) just joined Evan Carter (quadriceps) on the IL -- Seager's bat is needed in the lineup sooner rather than later.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Return not imminent

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that it will be another 7-to-10 days before Seager (hamstring) is activated from the 10-day injured list, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. Seager has resumed running and is doing "very well" in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, per Bochy. However, this is his second hamstring-related IL stint this season, his third since 2023 and fourth in his career, so the Rangers want to be cautious with the shortstop. Seager has been sent to be "further evaluated by somebody else," Bochy said, to see if there might be something the team and Seager can do differently with his rehab to prevent future hamstring problems. Seager has been limited to just 26 games this season because of his recurring hamstring issues, but he's been productive when on the field, slashing .300/.346/.520 with six home runs.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Could be out longer than 10 days

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said it's possible Seager (hamstring) will require longer than a minimum stay on the 10-day injured list, MLB.com reports. Seager missed just 10 days of action the first time he strained his right hamstring, but the Rangers figure to be more cautious this time around after he aggravated the injury and had to go back on the IL this week. The shortstop is eligible for activation May 21 during the second game of a six-game road trip, but a return sometime during the Rangers' May 26 to June 1 homestand seems likelier for Seager.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Likely headed back to injured list

Seager (hamstring) is likely to be placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. Seager wasn't deactivated Monday when the Rangers recalled first baseman Jake Burger from Triple-A Round Rock. However, the Rangers are expected to just wait to place Seager on the IL until Tuesday, when catcher Kyle Higashioka (intercostal) is likely to be activated from the IL. Seager previously landed on the IL on April 23 due to a right hamstring strain, then played in just five games after being activated May 2 before aggravating the injury.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Held out again Monday

Seager (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies. It marks the fourth time across the last five contests that Seager has been out of the lineup due to a right hamstring issue. Seager spent time on injured list in late April and early May with an injury to the same hamstring. The Rangers are considering him day-to-day for the time being. Ezequiel Duran is at shortstop and batting ninth for the Rangers on Monday.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Aggravates hamstring injury

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Seager is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Detroit after his right hamstring tightened up on a swing Saturday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. The shortstop had missed two straight games due to an injury to the same hamstring before returning to the lineup Saturday. Seager came up big in his return with two home runs and a double over four at-bats, but Ezequiel Duran came off the bench to replace him late in the contest. Seager is set to be evaluated Monday when the Rangers return home, but his availability for the start of a series versus the Rockies would seem to be in peril.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Taking seat Sunday

Seager is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers. Seager missed two straight games due to a right hamstring injury before returning to action in impressive fashion Saturday, when he went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, three RBI and an additional run to help lead the Rangers to a 10-3 victory. The Rangers haven't indicated that Seager experienced any setbacks with his hamstring coming out of Saturday's contest, so his absence Sunday could be a pre-planned maintenance day.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Homers twice in win

Seager went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 10-3 win over the Tigers. Seager sat out two straight contests but returned with a bang Saturday, notching his second two-homer game of the season. The shortstop has hit safely in each of his five games since returning from the injured list May 3, going 8-for-23 with four extra-base hits, six RBI and seven runs scored in that span. On the season, he's slashing .300/.346/.520 with six long balls, 12 RBI and 15 runs scored across 107 plate appearances.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Returns to lineup

Seager is hitting third and playing shortstop Saturday against the Tigers. Seager sat two consecutive days -- the latter against lefty Tarik Skubal -- to rest a right hamstring injury. He'll return to the lineup Saturday, and it's a positive sign that he'll man shortstop rather than serve as the designated hitter.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Dealing with hamstring injury

Seager was not in Friday's lineup to rest his injured right hamstring, Steve Kornacki of MLB.com reports. Seager was held out of games Thursday and Friday without a reason given. It's unclear if Seager aggravated his previous hamstring injury, or if the Rangers are being extra cautious with the shortstop, who was activated off the injured list a week ago. Josh Smith filled in at shortstop while Seager rested his hamstring.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Out of lineup again Friday

Seager is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Detroit. Seager getting a day off when the Tigers send lefty Tarik Skubal to the bump isn't necessarily unexpected. However, Seager didn't start Thursday's game in Boston, either, so he might be dealing with some sort of physical issue. Josh Smith is at shortstop and hitting seventh Friday.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Returns to shortstop

Seager started at shortstop and went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-1 win over Seattle. Seager, who served as the designated hitter Saturday when he was activated off the injured list, was back home at shortstop Sunday. The Rangers have been in an offensive funk and desperately need Seager's bat in the lineup. The shortstop ranks third on the club with a .291 batting average.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Serves as DH

Seager started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Mariners. Seager, who was activated off the 10-day injured list earlier in the day, was given a soft landing as the DH in his return from a hamstring injury. In time, Seager will resume his role as the everyday shortstop.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Aiming for Saturday activation

Seager (hamstring) took live batting practice Thursday and also did some running, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. Barring a setback, Seager is likely to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Saturday. The veteran shortstop is sporting a .286/.345/.468 batting line with four home runs over his first 21 contests for the Rangers this season.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Battling hamstring injury

Seager was removed from Tuesday's game against the Athletics due to right hamstring tightness, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning Newsreports. Texas was up 8-2 when Seager left the game, so it's possible the team's decision to pull him was simply precautionary, but the Rangers should provide some clarity sometime in the near future. If the 30-year-old ends up needing to miss time, Josh Smith would likely pick up some reps at shortstop.
