In that span, he batted a poor .205 (16-for-78) with three doubles, five RBI, 10 runs scored and two steals. He's started to turn things around with at least one hit in five straight games. The second baseman now has a .238/.308/.387 slash line, 19 homers, 67 RBI, 88 runs scored and six steals over 141 contests this season. He hasn't missed the 20-homer mark in a full-length campaign since 2018, and he has three weeks left to reach that milestone in 2024.

Semien was shifted from leadoff to third in the order July 29 and has stayed there since, though Tuesday marked the first time the Rangers faced a left-hander in that span. It looks like the lineup tweak will stick against pitchers of both handedness. The second baseman is 6-for-29 with four walks, two doubles, one home run, three RBI and two runs scored over eight games as the No. 3 batter.
