Miro Heiskanen D | DAL
Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Not ready to return Wednesday
Heiskanen (knee) will miss Game 3 versus Colorado on Wednesday, per Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now.
Heiskanen had five goals and 25 points across 50 regular-season appearances with Dallas in 2024-25. He hasn't played since Jan. 28, but he is getting close to returning, so perhaps Heiskanen will be an option for Game 4 on Saturday. When the 25-year-old is ready to return, he should serve in a top-four capacity and on the first power-play unit.

Stuart Skinner G | EDM
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Gets starting nod Wednesday
Skinner will patrol the crease on the road in Game 2 against Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
Skinner was shelled in Game 1 to the tune of six goals on 30 shots (.800 save percentage) in a losing effort to the Kings. Despite the tough performance, the 26-year-old netminder will get the start ahead of Calvin Pickard, who went 22-10-1 in his 36 regular-season outings. If Skinner stumbles again, his hold on the No. 1 job should probably be in doubt.

Evander Kane LW | EDM
Oilers' Evander Kane: In action Wednesday
Kane (knee) will be in the lineup for Game 2 versus the Kings on Wednesday, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports.
Kane will be in action for the first time since June 10, 2024, due to his long-term knee problem. The 33-year-old winger is poised to take on a top-six role, likely on the second line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in addition to linking up with the No. 2 power-play unit.

Nikolaj Ehlers LW | WPG
Jets' Nikolaj Ehlers: Won't travel with Jets
Ehlers (foot) won't travel with the Jets as their first-round series continues in St. Louis, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports Wednesday.
Winnipeg will play in St. Louis for Game 3 on Thursday and Game 4 on Sunday. The Jets lead the series 2-0, so it's possible that Winnipeg will settle things with the Blues by the end of that trip. If not, Game 5 will be played in Winnipeg next Wednesday. Ehlers, who had 24 goals and 63 points across 69 regular-season appearances in 2024-25, doesn't appear to be close to returning.

Gabriel Vilardi C | WPG
Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Making trip Thursday
Vilardi (upper body) will travel with the Jets for Thursday's Game 3 matchup in St. Louis, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.
Vilardi has been out of action since March 23 versus the Sabres, a stretch of 13 games on the shelf due to his upper-body issue. In his 71 regular-season appearances this year, the 25-year-old natural center posted career highs in goals (27), assists (34) and power-play points (25). If given the all-clear for Game 3, Vilardi will likely be on both the first line as well as the No. 1 power-play unit.

Pheonix Copley G | LA
Kings' Pheonix Copley: Returns to minors
Copley was reassigned to AHL Ontario on Wednesday.
Copley was serving as the Kings' third-string goaltender with Los Angeles. The 33-year-old has a 2.49 GAA and a .904 save percentage across 42 regular-season outings with Ontario in 2024-25. Carter George was recalled from Ontario in a corresponding move.

Dougie Hamilton D | NJ
Devils' Dougie Hamilton: First point since return
Hamilton registered an assist in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 2.
This was Hamilton's third game back after a long-term, lower-body injury that cost him 18 contests. The 31-year-old has operated in a top-four role during the postseason, adding three shots on net, four hits and a blocked shot over the first two playoff games. He's also on the first power-play unit again, as Luke Hughes (upper body) was unable to play Tuesday. Hamilton is a solid DFS option even as the Devils look a little outmatched in this first-round series.

Jesper Bratt LW | NJ
Devils' Jesper Bratt: Scores in Game 2 loss
Bratt scored a goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 2.
Bratt has been involved in both of the Devils' goals in the series, though that's not an encouraging level of team production. The 26-year-old winger has added six shots on net, two hits and a minus-3 rating. He'll continue to function in the top six and on the first power-play unit, but the Devils will need to get more scoring overall to avoid being one-and-done for this playoff run.

Seth Jarvis C | CAR
Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Deposits empty-netter
Jarvis scored an empty-net goal on three shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Devils in Game 2.
Jarvis put the final touches on the win, which saw the Hurricanes take care of business on home ice to establish a 2-0 series lead. The empty-netter was his first point of the series, but he's added five shots on net, seven hits and four blocked shots over two contests. Jarvis has quickly developed into a reliable two-way forward and should continue to see significant ice time throughout the postseason.

Shayne Gostisbehere D | CAR
Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Nets equalizer in Game 2
Gostisbehere scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Devils in Game 2.
Gostisbehere tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period. The 32-year-old defenseman is still listed on the third pairing, but his power-play role makes him a de facto top-four blueliner in terms of usage and scoring. He had a strong regular season with 45 points (27 on the power play) as well as 122 shots on net, 66 blocked shots, 52 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 70 appearances.
