Draft Scouting Report

Rating: 79.81 (Reserve/backup)
Pro Comparison: Jalen Tolbert
Summary

Tory Horton is an older wide receiver prospect with a lean frame, though he’s added quality muscle and plays with a smooth blend of twitch and vertical separation ability. His speed is good but not elite, and his long strides allow him to glide effortlessly downfield. Deceptive acceleration makes him a tougher cover than his straight-line speed suggests. His hands steadily improved throughout college, and despite lacking a power-forward build, he tracks the ball exceptionally well and can secure tough grabs through contact.

While he leans on his lateral movement, his side-to-side wiggle can be a bit labored when throttling down and changing direction as a route runner. However, that movement adds value after the catch, where he shows more burst and surprising contact balance than expected for his frame. Deceptively effective as a YAC threat.

There’s nothing truly elite about his profile, but he’s a highly experienced receiver who has run the full route tree from multiple alignments and is a reliable target. A solid WR prospect with a high floor, though his age and only slightly above-average traits may limit his upside.
